  1. State of Hawaii should do like State of Nevada, for those people who has gotten all their shots will have on their wrist a hospital band that cannot be remove, once it has been removed it cannot be used again, the person has to go back to square one, get a record where he got the shots and they would put on a new band, the only way to remove the band is cutting it off.

  2. Violators should spend jail time here in Hawaii and follow court hearing, with fine of $5,000 this way mainlander will not challenge Hawaii law.

  3. Probably overboard. We don’t enforce rules in America anymore, but only for unvaccinated unscientifically verified results we will. Pick your poison, everyone has a choice.

    1. No some just dont follow the rules anymore and think its called freedom. Follow the rules. Do the right thing.

  4. Thankyou Hawaii for your beautiful island paradise, rich history, and laidback lifestyle. If I were able and younger I would retire there. All of the complaints and noise I am seeing here are
strange, the governing leaders are trying to protect both tourists and Hawaii’s citizens. People have a right to complain but are going to far. A lot of misguided people believe tourist destinations “Owe” customers the benefit of the doubt, that is wrong, because lives are at stake. It so ironic that during a pandemic common sense and the golden rule has all but disappeared. I am sure that negative tourists would not be missed in the future. Aloha!

  5. 10 days jail time? Lol, those guys should be sure to get a full medical exam, any treatments that have been pending, maybe get their teeth cleaned, and a refill on any meds they are in need of.
Why not let the state pay? With the new 16% highest income tax rate in the country combined with increasing the transient accommodation tax rate by more than 4% and blaming it all on Covid, these have plenty of money to spend on jailing and the medical care of its tourists.

  6. take them to jail and fine them, must pay via credit card before release. I was just in Kauai we went to great lengths to follow all rules before we traveled and once we arrived. No issues lovely trip, others can do the same….simple solve follow the rules.

  7. Hawaii should close it’s doors, go back to being a Monarchy and depend on itself. No more tourism, no Federal money….let us know how that works out.

  8. So glad consequences actually took place. As I understand it, it costs a good chunk of change to get fake vaccination cards. I don’t get it, shots are free. I guess some people like gaming the system for the thrill of it.

    1. No. Some people are paranoid anti vax people who follow stupid conspiracy theories. Others object religiously (such as Christian Scientists).

Others though are scared. They don’t have insurance or bad insurance and worry about covering healthcare costs if the shot makes them ill. Then bombarded with False info like the shot can lead to virus shedding etc, they don’t know what to think and choose to trust their own bodies. It’s very telling that the ones holding out are often younger and/or BIPOC. Distrust of the system is high there, communication has been mediocre across both administrations and its leading to this small but significant subsection who isn’t getting vaxxed. Honestly I think a travel mandate requiring vax and business pressure from jobs will be the only things to get the needle moving on a lot of this group. Will it be enough to get hers immunity… no one knows
