Westjet continues to expand their Hawaii air service between western Canada and Hawaii. Today the carrier announced nine new weekly seasonal flights. But will there be Hawaii deals?
We’re happy to see more Hawaii flights for Canadian visitors yet remain unsure about value pricing on these routes. Thus far there has been little competition from legacy carrier Air Canada, which would be required to help keep Hawaii airfare costs down. That could change however. So we’ll be keeping a close watch on Canada to Hawaii travel deals for the upcoming snowbird season.
Westjet will use two leased Boeing 757’s for the following routes:
- Calgary to Honolulu (twice weekly)
- Calgary to Maui (four times weekly)
- Edmonton to Maui (three times weekly)
Flights are scheduled to commence December 13, 2013 and operate through April 26, 2014.
Westjet partners with Thomas Cook to provide the larger aircraft and pilots. Westjet’s own 737 fleet is not capable of flying the distance from Alberta to Hawaii.

Hi Donna,
I suggest looking for other comments on the Hawaii Entertainment book. It isn’t something we run into much any more.
