  1. Hiking to Stone Dam is a beautiful & easy nature walk too through mahogany tree forest, beautiful green floral pastures & swimming or just placing your feet in the cool refreshing water of Stone Dam!

      1. I do not know every trail on Kauai. By she do you mean Oprah or the author of the post? Perhaps I am mistaken, but I heard Oprah say Kauai only on the one post with the unidentified two track trail. The 10.2 miles round trip hike was posted separately, and looks like a separate hike done earlier on a different day, which looks a lot like Maui.

  2. Aloha! Just wanted to emphasize something you said,8 because this has become an issue for us…. Visitors need advanced reservations to enter Ha’ena State Park that gets you to Hanakapi’ai Falls (we don’t promote Hanakapi’ai Beach because it’s so dangerous). Many are being turned around and denied entry to Ha’ena State Park because they had no reservations to enter. There is always the North Shore Shuttle too: gohaena.com

Also, the Kalepa Trail in Koke’e is Closed.

    Mahalo!

    1. Hi Sue.

Thanks. We did now note that Kalepa Trail is closed. Yes, the ocean at Hanakapiai Beach is very dangerous, and sadly, Jeff witnessed a drowning there.

      BTW how was lunch yesterday?

      Aloha.

  3. Hiking was one of my favorite ways to connect with the island when I lived there. Sleeping Giant & the trail up near the Wailua arboretum were near my home so I hiked those often. The trails in Koke’e were nice but I preferred the more tropical vegetation & waterfalls of the many other island trails.
