  1. I did a covid vaccine trial. I have a card from the cdc, but it says trial. Is that going to be an issue? Thanks!

    1. Thank you Peter for asking this question. I am in the Moderna vaccine study, and received my vaccines before they were approved for emergency use back in August and September of 2020, so I will call the state to determine if they will accept it given the dates sound off (earlier they had a rule about dates of the vaccine and travel, hoping they accept it).

  2. when trying to upload my covid vaccination card, it is asking for a signature. I cannot do this on my computer . Plus it doesn’t go forward for me to add picture of my card. Anyone else having this issue?

  3. So… my vaccination card was in my bag and hand sanitizer leaked on it making it difficult to read. As a replacement to the card, my state sends a text with the information. It doesn’t seem possible to obtain another physical card from my state. I’ll upload both documents. I hope it will work because that’s all I have.

Can’t believe, in our ‘modern’ society that we’re reduced to carrying around a flimsy card for state-to-state travel

      1. My understanding is that laminated cards are not allowed. It is possible these cards will need to be used for booster shots in the future.

    1. Non-vaccinated travelers will have to have proof of a negative Covid test taken within 72 hours of arrival. Check out the Hawaii Safe Travels site for more info. I hope this helps. I have been watching this and reading as much as possible prior to our up coming trip. Good lucky and happy travels.

    2. You must take a Covid test from a Hawaii trusted travel partner with 72hrs of your final flight departing for Hawaii … the same as it has been for the last year.

    3. As the article states you’ll have to get the Covid test as you have always had to (from an approved provider) 72 hours before you travel. Nothing has changed in that regard.
      Check the links.

  4. How long will the vaccine exemption apply? For instance, say the 2nd dose is administered in February, and travel will occur in November (more than 6 months after 2nd dose). Is that good enough?

    Thanks!

  5. I was not able to load my copy of my vaccination card using the link designated for that card. I did upload using the “other” link. Has anyone else experienced this and what did you do?

    1. Initially the site did not accept out of state vaccination records. As of July 1, they can be uploaded. I tried to upload our info as soon as the change was announced and ran into this.
I have since successfully uploaded our cards. Perhaps try again?

    2. I did the safe travels on my laptop because it was too difficult on my iPhone. I clicked on my photo and dragged and dropped it into the box and it worked.

  6. Aloha Guys-

So a hard copy of your vax card works and you can leave the original at home correct?

    thanks

    1. Hi Jon.

Yes, that is our understanding and is exactly what we received from the governor.

      Aloha.

      1. I’m confused on the question “So a hard copy of your vax card works and you can leave the original at home correct?” I thought you had to have the original and copies would not be accepted. I am assuming a hard copy is a copy not the original. What am I missing?

        Thanks

        1. Hi Catherine.

The language we used is exactly as provided by the state, so you can take it quite literally. If you cant to talk with them, Safe Travels help desk is at 855-599-0888.

          Aloha.

  7. Aloha! What are the new rules for children under 12 who cannot get vaccinated? The rest of our group is. Mahalo!

    1. Hi Judy.

That is specifically addressed in and was the purpose of the post. If you have any more questions on that, just let us know.

      Aloha.
