  1. Hi
What type of ID is acceptable for my 12 year old for her vaccination exception? She has a passport but it is expired….
    Please advise. Thank you!

  2. My daughter will turn 12 the day that we fly into Hawaii. Will she be required to be vaccinated? There won’t be an approved vaccine for her prior to us flying. Will we need to provide proof of age? We will have her covid tested but I can’t imagine having her tested every 48 hours while on vacation. Thank you!

  3. I have a thirteen year old who is vaccinated. I see that they will be checking for our vaccination cards with ID AT THE gates. For my child would he need some kind of form of ID like a school ID or birth certificate?

  4. Thanks for this…I was able to upload easily, though the multiple signatures had me for a loop for a while. I kept getting errrors, and caught on (make sure you “submit signature” after signing). If I recall, I did it three times. My trip isn’t till September, and according to video on the site (6 easy steps) I should get an email 10 days ahead of the trip to finish the process and obtain my QR code. Be sure to have a fully charged phone, therefore, and likely a printout of the QR. I often use my Anker battery charger because of my frequent checking on my phone during travels. It’s awesome…you can charge 2 or 3 times from that thing!

Love BOH for keeping me sane about going to Hawaii. Learning Hawaiian on Duolingo.com (free). Maybe I can move to BI if all goes well.

    1. Hi Gloria.

Thanks. We both have battery chargers too and while they aren’t needed often, they are a lifesaver when they are.

      Aloha.

    2. Thank you for your post. Did you also do CLEAR as well as Safe Travels? One of them, cant remember now, said it expires 8/6/2021, but I just did both yesterday and my trip is in September also. Maybe I have to redo both about 3 weeks before my trip? Thanks in advance to anyone who knows why this shows an expiration date of just a month away.

    3. still not working for me. switched to trying on my phone so I can sign but multiple tries and it still didn’t accept my signature. sigh

  5. Hello, Is uploading my vaccine card the last of the protocols or do we also fill out the health questionnaire 24 hours prior to traveling? If so, will a QR code then be generated? Again, thanks for this site and all the issues you address. What a huge help!!

    1. Hi Susan.

Thank you. As far as we know, the health questionnaire will be required so long as there is Safe Travels.

      Aloha.

  6. I have had no issues with the safe travels program. Just had to stay on top of the changes. Things have changed often. And things were not always clear. Have been to the islands twice during the whole process. And my biggest thing is please have patience for the people working at the airport. They have a lot to contend with. They’ve had to learn just the same as we have. Be kind to the people who live here and are doing they’re best to make sure you enjoy your vacation. They have done from zero to 100 overnight. They’re playing catch-up too. And remember that the Islands don’t have the hospital beds in large numbers like the mainland. I’m here in big island and enjoying island time. No rush and no fuss from me.

    Enjoy the islands.

    1. the problem with the ” limited hospitals” rhetoric is at no point ever were hospitals in Hawaii overwhelmed…

So to use that excuse now, with vaccines and hardly anyone in ICU’s or on ventilators is asinine.

It’s a tourist control program at this point.

    2. Aloha Jenn, I’m planning my life long dream vacation trip to Oahu next year!! I’m getting very excited & can’t wait🌍🌈✈🏖🌞🌊 God bless you!
