Introduction – Cheapest Time to Fly to Hawaii | Hawaii Vacation Deals
Flights to Hawaii remain at inflation adjusted low prices. That’s great news for 2017 Hawaii vacations. Competition and strong discounting on many routes are resulting in cheaper than normal flights to Hawaii.
Lower prices are based on more flights and on low fuel prices that permit the airlines to make money even on reduced airfares. Virgin America (now officially part of Alaska Airlines) started flights to Hawaii from San Francisco and Los Angeles, which provided competitive pressure and better pricing in these two important markets. This continues to be the case and should even get better going forward once the deal is completed.
New aircraft arriving in 2017. The delivery of new planes will start in 2017 and should significantly help with prices. We will see new nonstop flights to Honolulu, Maui, Kona and Lihue as Hawaiian Airlines takes delivery of single-aisle Airbus A321neo and thereafter Alaska receives their Boeing 737MAX aircraft. These new extended range jets will be the upcoming workhorse fleets for most west coast (and beyond) flights to Hawaii. Southwest Airlines flights to Hawaii will start in the not distant future as well.
