I am trying to plan a tip for my boyfriend and I to Hawaii sometime next year. We are open to really any months later in the year to give us time to save money. What are the cheapest months to travel from Seattle to Kapalua? Thanks!

We’re finding $721 on the 18th and $771 via US Airways. That’s about as good as you can expect to find and it might be good to lock that in.

My fiance and I are looking to go to Hawaii June 16 – June 27 for our honeymoon from the Midwest (although we will consider jumping on deals from the west coast and finding separate fights to get to the west coast.. When can we expect most summer deals to start coming up?

Congratulations! Unfortunately there will be no deals from anywhere to Hawaii, including the west coast, for those high season dates. Cheaper fares will be available for travel ending by early June or starting from mid-August.

I am looking to book travel to Honolulu from Baltimore in early May 2014, then an island hop to Maui, then return flight to Baltimore. Flights just for arrival and departure from Hawaii (not including the island hop) are $950 lowest.
Do you have any suggestions for when the price may drop between now and May? Also, any insider tips for the island hop flight?

That will be low season, so we suggest waiting until sometime early next year when better prices might appear. You can look at fares into Honolulu and out of Maui, which may or may not improve the overall cost somewhat. Tip on inter-island is to not wait once you know your dates.

Because spring break is early next year, you may do better and see sales if you wait until early next year to book. If you’re not comfortable with that of course you can book now and the lowest price at the moment is $588 per person.

Two airfares plus four nights at under $1,000 probably is too tight. You can check Allegiant to Honolulu if that’s convenient and acceptable. That’s the only possibility for $1,000. but Kauai or Maui will add another $240 inter-island. Let us know how it goes.

We are trying to decide if it would be better (both price wise and weather and stuff wise) to go to Oahu for 8-9 days from the SF bay area around November 20th or January 18th. Which would you recommend?

Aloha! We’re trying to plan a trip to Maui from LAX or SAN during spring break (3/29 – 4/5). Would love to do Saturday to Saturday, but the fare is over $1,000. Hawaiian is currently priced at approx. $500 (and low miles scale) for Tuesday to Tuesday from SAN, but that would mean kids would miss 2 days of school. Should we jump on this now or wait it out for our ideal dates?

There is nothing that leads us to believe there will be Hawaii deals for Spring Break 2014. Therefore, it you can make it work, I’d suggest you lock in the $500 rate.

Sacramento is fairly competitive so we should see some deals. They can appear at any time and I expect to see more soon. Your cheapest travel dates will be anytime except March, early June through mid-August and over the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.

We’re planning on going to Kauai from Wisconsin – probably flying out of Milwaukee or Madison or maybe Minneapolis – from approximately July 29 till August 9, 2014. Flights are now about $1100 to $1250. What do you think the chances are prices will go down?
