Much lower Hawaii airfares are available today as a result of a sale from Hawaiian Airlines. See details below, and act quickly. There are some considerations to think about first: do you choose basic or regular economy and how do you feel about the Hawaiian Airlines location at LAX?
And another question is whether or not this could spawn a more widespread airfare war. That happened just last month when Hawaii airfares dropped to as low as $62 each way. One difference is that last month’s fare war was started by Southwest and responded to by Hawaiian.
Following are 19 routes on sale from $99 to $129 each way. The first price shown on each route is for basic economy and the second price is for regular economy.

Limitations of Hawaiian Airlines basic economy to consider.
The “Main Cabin Basic” economy option comes with several specific provisions:
- No Advance Seat Assignment: There are no advance seat assignments for this fare. Seats can be chosen during online check-in 24 hours before the flight or will be allocated at the gate by Hawaiian Airlines, depending on availability.
- No Guarantee for Seating Together: The airline cannot guarantee that your entire family will be seated together. If it’s important for all family members to sit together, we recommend considering another fare option with fewer restrictions.
- Last Group to Board: This could mean you won’t have overhead storage.
- Carry-On Bag and Personal Item: You are allowed a free carry-on bag and one personal item, but space is subject to availability.
- HawaiianMiles: Members will continue to earn one mile for each mile flown.
- Complimentary Services: This fare includes no-cost meals (we’d call them snacks), beverages, snack mix, and in-flight entertainment.
- Restrictions on Changes: After the initial 24-hour period, no upgrades, changes, or cancellations are permitted.
In summary, the “Main Cabin Basic” economy on Hawaiian Airlines provides a budget-friendly option with certain specific limitations on seating and changes. But it does include free in-flight amenities and mileage accrual for HawaiianMiles members.
* Flyers take note about flying to/from Los Angeles Airport on Hawaiian Airlines.
If you weren’t aware, Hawaiian Airlines has moved to a new location in the Tom Bradley International Terminal B at LAX. We have flown in and out of LAX twice since the move.

An extensive walk is required in the new terminal location, and that has been noted in more than 150 of your comments. The situation is challenging at best.
