  1. Well, I’ve been on about 3 Boeing 737 flights to Maui, Hawaii and back (to the mainland), so the first two were to Maui from the mainland and then the third one was coming back home to California from Maui (Once on Aloha with the -700 variant and twice on United with the -800 variant). I look forward to be flying on the MAX to Maui or any other Hawaiian island one day.

  2. From what I have been reading it was Go airline that put the end to Aloha Air. I think my first flight on a 737 was on Southwest sometime ago. Than it was Alaska, both the 800 ER and the 900 ER. Lately Southwest, both 800 ER and Max 8. I don’t think SW will use any larger aircraft. I remember being stranded at LAX on a return trip from New Zealand. Qantas to Horizon, Horizon canceled our connecting flight home, leaving us stranded at LAX, we had to take SW home. Horizon is part of Alaska. Alaska’s habit of goofing up connecting flights is why we gave up on Alaska.
    Aloha

  3. Our first trip to the Hawaiian islands, Maui, was on Aloha Airlines out of Burbank in 2004. Actually the most friendly flight that let you know you were about to visit a beautiful place, and they were taking you. Aloha!

  4. Aloha BOH – this is great overview of 737 flights in and to Hawaii. I had to opportunity to take Aloha twice on their transpacific service from OAK. Once to LIH via HNL (in 2000) and also to OGG (in 2003). Aloha’s service was unique in that until the existence of long range 737s, airports like OAK struggled to maintain much (if any) nonstop service to Hawaii. I’m pretty sure Aloha also briefly operated flights from HNL to Midway Island. That was probably their most unusual route.
