  1. Good review guys. I always fly Inter Island First. Firstly because I have a knee disability and being 6’5″ I need the extra leg room in Row 2, Second because the seats recline and do not set off my Sciatica and 3) Because I book well in advance and the extra is not that great. As you say it is not really First Class but the lack of stress, the extra space and the easier boarding and deplaning plus the two bags make it a no brainer for me. I love the 717’s. I remember the old Hawaiian DC9’s flying in and out of Molokai and Lanai. Back then there was no first class on Hawaiian inter island only on Aloha and their aged 737’s. Not looking forward to the Airbus Regional Jets.

  2. My wife and I did first class on a couple inter island flights during a trip in 2019. It was money well spent as our flight from Lihue to Kona was delayed three hours due to heavy rains. Although the lounge in Lihue is smallish and nothing fancy, having that option made the wait more bearable.

  3. I fly a lot for business, so maybe my standards are a little different/higher than your typical vacation flyer, but I find Hawaiians Premier Club to be lack luster, short on amenities, and generally not as good as the Clubs from other airlines like Delta, etc. However, Hawaiian does have a different lunch called The Plumeria Lounge that Does have the kinds of amenities that other airlines provide in their longes. However, access to the Plumeria Lounge is very limited, unless you pay Hawaiian $40+. Specifically, First Class guests have access, as long as they are departing for an east coast destination. Personally, I think that they should allow all mainland first class passengers access to this lounge.

  4. I’ve written them a few times about having to call to do so much when we should be able to just do it online. Maybe with Amazon buying out 15%, they’ll change it, lol.

  5. Hawaiian lounges are sad. Just feel like forgotten doctors waiting rooms, colorless, crowded and uninteresting.
They need to go back to packets of tickets for inter island travel.
