  1. We are scheduled to fly from LAX to Honolulu on April 25 but it now looks as though our trip will not happen. I’ve tried calling Hawaiian air to assist me with cancelling our flight but all I get is a busy signal. We made our reservation on Hawaiian Air and because we used air miles for part of our flight we were instructed to call Hawaiian air to cancel.

  2. My family of 6 is scheduled to fly from San Diego to Maui, March 21, 2020. All I want is for Hawaiian Airlines to to allow me to reschedule for next year during spring break or allow us to give a credit of the fees paid to family members who plan on going to Maui in September. All the cruise line offered 125% credit toward a future cruise. The airlines should work with us, since this is beyond our control.

  3. We are supposed to fly out of San Diego to Maui March 26for a week. We have a condo already paid for. Not sure if things will be a go as of yet. We keep anticipating HA to cancel the flights

    1. Please don’t travel to Hawaii right now! Stay home – care for your families and ours! The US government is asking for no unnecessary travel, why are people still going on vacation? Please – our resources are limited already, and county facilities are closed. As of yesterday we have confirmed community spread in Hawaii. In Florida they are even limiting the number of people on the beaches, I’m sure it will be the same here soon! We have to work together to combat the spread by staying home!

      1. Dear CH, I totally agree. While I love my time in Hawaii, I love the Hawaiian people more. The islands face very special circumstances in situations like this that we on the mainland don’t even have to think about . Due to their remoteness, there are limited supplies & resources. Limited medical facilities on some of the smaller islands. Difficulty getting mass amounts of medical supplies, respirators etc to the islands. While I planned to travel over in March, I abandoned that plan for this year. The islands will be there when the virus has passed. Please be Pono. Think of the local residents & families and think of your own loved ones before traveling & risking carrying this around the islands or home to your family. Mahalo

      2. I agree. Hawaiian Airlines should cancel all flights a refund every person. Perhaps the governor of Hawaii will quar antine the islands…

        1. Hawaiian Airlines should be providing Hawaii the essential air service that is needed…everyone else
          should be cancelling their flights.
These are unusual times that require innovative thinking.

  4. I have Maui trip coming up Sept 10- Oct 1. Have not made air reservation yet. If I make reservation now, will change waiver fee be honored? If flight cancelled by Hawaiian result in refund?

  5. Supposed to fly out March 22nd – one week away- guess we will see what transpires between now and then.

  6. I checked today for flights and cost from Memphis for the last week of April which is my annual trip. Round trip with great connections AAirlines are $412.00 basic economy. Very tempting.

  7. Aloha…we have reservations from LAX to Lihue on May 2. Not freaking out yet, just a little concerned. Hoping by end of March or first of April things will be better and wont have to worry about changing reservations at the last minute. Don’t know if can change dates at condo we reserved either. Anyone else going in May?

    1. Aloha, Yes we are going to Kauai in May also. Still holding on to see what happens and hoping for the best. our timeshare is problematic if we cannot arrive for our reservations. We will keep hanging in there for the time being. Good luck,
      Mahalo

    2. I have a trip planned the 2nd week of June. I am holding out to see what will happen. AA has decreased flights from Nashville to Lihue to $375 RT but I am stuck with tickets through Southwest for $604…wondering when SW will drop lower. It’s scary because you don’t know which airlines will go belly up from all of this.

  8. We are scheduled for 4/30 – 5/15 Seattle to Maui. I’m sitting tight until mid April where I hope to have more information to make a decision. Unfortunately our first week is at one of the higher end timeshares so I won’t get that money back. First time I have stepped up and paid that much for a week. If we end up not being able to go I won’t reschedule due to the loss of that money 🙁 Hopefully things will improve for everyone soon. This is having such a negative impact on the financial, physical and emotional well being of so many people that worrying about a vacation is so small compared to being able to house and feed your family.

    1. Aloha Catherine – my hubby and I are in the same boat as you. We have a time-share reservation for a week for which we won’t be able to get a refund. If Hawaiian cancels our Tuesday flight, it will affect our time share reservation. And like you, we won’t be able to reschedule because of the cost. But we are going to sit tight and wait to see what May brings as far as how the virus affects airline schedules, etc. Hoping for the best, and keeping in mind that this won’t last forever and better days will come. Stay well and hang on to your reservations for now if you can.

  9. I would certainly hope that if they cancel my May 14 flight, I would have the option of a refund. Their current policy of waiving change fees buy requiring you reuse your fare by December 31 in not a viable solution for me. Neither is, while I’m on it, a fee to redeposit my air miles. A voluntary change with those policies in place is one thing, but if they pull the plug it is something completely different.

    1. Hawaiians current policy of having to rebook and use so soon is very unreasonable!
We are ticketed to go in May and have just cancelled both our timeshare on Kauai as well as Mariott on Oahu successfully
But now Hawaiian is the problem….
I am going to wait a few weeks and hope that Hawaiian come out with a more reasonable policy
The islands are going to be very taxed with supplies, medical, etc…not a good time to go, not to mention
the airports….stay home and hope that Hawaiian comes to their senses and puts health ahead of profits

  10. Due to fly beginning of June. It’s was a special trip for my 60th birthday. Saved for years for this.
    Should I cancel ?

    1. What Janelle said. This could get very bad, or it could get well. I’d wait to cancel until the last possible moment that you can, see what happens, etc. Make sure you check out refund policies from every business you’ve prepaid with before cancelling – airlines, car rental agencies, tour companies, etc.
