  1. Saw the first two after recommendation by my Millennial daughter. The article and comments so far offer too much credit. After two episodes, I’d call it “Hawaii meets Dallas” for those fans of nighttime soap opera.

  2. Having worked for many years in a 5 star resort on the mainland, I thought the show was spot on. Loved seeing the employees point of view. Strange the way it was filmed through a murky yellow filter but that made it more interesting I thought. Still fun to see Wialea. Nice surprise!

    1. I know! That Sienna/yellow film filter really bothered me.I have noticed other shows/movies going with that film-making trend.

The problem with this program (other than the yellow/Sienna filming) is pretty much no one was likable (except the spa lady). Watched the entire series, but left feeling a bit depressed. Not even the scenery could save it.

  3. Finale was inevitable but underwhelming. The show deals with issues of privilege, colonialism and the haves and have nots. EVERY tourist should watch it.

  4. I’m not sure what it is about this show but I’m LOVIN’ IT! I’m sure it being set in Hawai’i has something to do with it but I’m so glad they just signed on another season!
