If you plan to fly to or from Hawaii with Southwest Airlines, here’s a smart way to save a little extra for your trip. Costco.com is offering their $500 Southwest Airlines e-gift card for $429.99—a 14% discount. It might not cover a gourmet meal in Waikiki, but if you’re already planning your next island getaway, why not pocket some savings for better use elsewhere—like a memorable experience, a special treat, or some extra bit of Aloha?

Costco.com has brought back its Southwest Airlines e-gift card deal, priced at $429.99 for a $500 gift card. There’s a limit of five gift cards per member, so purchasing five cards could save up to $350.
Why the Southwest offer is worth considering.
While a 14% discount may not seem huge, it can still help with travel costs, especially if you’re booking multiple flights or traveling with family. Since this deal is available for all Southwest routes, including those to Hawaii, it’s a practical way to reduce the cost of your next trip.
One major advantage of flying with Southwest is the two free checked bags. This is a great perk when traveling to Hawaii, where you’ll likely bring extra luggage. Additionally, Southwest’s flexible policies, such as no change fees and a generous frequent flyer program, make it a popular choice for travelers who value convenience.
Another reason to take advantage of the gift cards is the potential for “stacking savings” by combining this offer with a Southwest airfare sale. These gift cards can be combined with Southwest fare sales, giving you even bigger savings. For example, we recently featured deals like the easy Companion Pass offer and the 50% off Southwest sale, with more Hawaii promotions likely ahead.
BOH’s opinion on the Southwest offer from Costco.
This deal may not be a headline-grabber, but for those already flying Southwest, it’s a worthwhile way to save. Whether planning a family vacation or booking multiple flights, you’ll save a respectable 14% with this e-gift card. Southwest’s fare sales also give you even more potential for stacking discounts.
These e-gift cards never expire, so even if you don’t have exact travel dates set, you can grab the deal now and use them later when the timing and fares work for you.
Are you onboard with this Hawaii travel deal?

I lived on Oahu from June 1981-Feb. 1983 and taught at a private school for children with learning differences at Assets Armed Services Special Education Training Society. Had such a wonderful experience living there and learning about the language, culture of the Polynesian people…….Have been back a few times but would love to return. From what I am reading from the Beat of Hawaii, things have really changed. Have a number of friends who really want to go but think everything is soooo expensive. Aloha nui loa…..love you Connie C.
Aloha,
I fly direct on Hawaiian Airlines from Boston to Honolulu to visit my Hawaiian Ohana. I fly Southwest to visit my Florida Ohana . I bought my southwest gift cards today from Costco I used my 3% cash back credit card. So I saved 17%.
One other benefit/plus flying SW from the mainland to the Islands is that they only fly Max8’s…Much newer aircraft than other airlines are flying. particularly in view of the some of the older planes having issues recently as you have so diligently reported on this site
One thing to be aware of, as I recently found out trying to use our Southwest gift cards, is that you cannot use them on a Southwest package. I was all the way to check out only to discover my gift card was not working (and I knew it was valid). When I finally talked to a live person at Southwest, I was told that the gift cards are only good for flights, not packages.
I wish I’d known that since I wasted a lot of time researching the best package for us, so I thought I would pass this along as a cautionary tale to you all.
