We would like to travel to the Big Island from St. Louis in late July/early August 2018 with our 1 and 5 yr old. When is the best time to book flights and what would be a good price?
Beat of Hawaii
Hi Laurie.
For mid-August on, maybe low $600’s. For earlier than that, target low $700’s. Some of those are available now. July can get tight for air and accommodation availability. Not so much so in August.
Aloha.

Aloha! Mahalo in advance for any help you can provide! I’m heading home for my brother’s graduation from LAX to HNL this December 13th to the 17th. I have to depart after 4pm because of work and the cheapest flight I’ve seen today is around $575. Will that go down at all if I wait a few weeks or should I book already? Thanks so much again!
Beat of Hawaii
Hi Steven.
Looks like $647 on Hawaiian is the best we can find. Not sure it will improve.
Elle
Hi!
I am travelling from Dallas to Kauai from 12/6-12/12 (dates flexible by 2-3 days). I have seen tickets for $750 and was wondering if that is the best deal or if I should wait? Thank you very much for all your help!!
Beat of Hawaii
Hi Elle.
We’re seeing good connection on American for about $700 today. It has potential to come down by up to $100 but not sure if it will. Probably safe to wait, if your nerves can take it. 🙂
Aloha.
Rachelle
Good morning – I have been monitoring air prices for a few months and would appreciate your advice on when to purchase tickets. We will be leaving from PDX – OGG on June 28-July 9th. We are a little flexible with the dates give or take to the front or end of the trip if it saves a significant amount of money. The current rate I am seeing is $688.41pp
Do you suggest I keep waiting until after the first of the year? Or do you think it’s going to stay around 688?
Let me know your thoughts, thank you in advance for your advice.
Beat of Hawaii
Hi Rachelle.
It doesn’t seem likely that route will improve based on all that we know at this time. Suggest buying. It is actually a good price for those dates.
Aloha.

Aloha!,
My wife and I are going to Oahu August 1 of 2018 for our 25th Anniversary, This will be our first trip to Hawaii so we are very excited. We will be flying out of Boston because flights from Portland Maine are running 300-400 more each. I’ve seen round trip flights from Boston to Honolulu for $932. Should I book now or wait for a better deal? I hate to ask but do you think the recent hurricane devastation in the Caribbean will cause prices to spike on airfare to Hawaii as people make travel plans for 2018?
Thank you in advance you have a wonderful website!
Beat of Hawaii
Hi Patrick.
It is still a week or two too early to purchase since all of your flights need to be within 330 days of booking (return is outside that window). Suggest a good price is low to mid $800’s with a good connection.
Aloha.
Staci
Hi! We’ll be traveling to HNL from IAH (Houston) on January 11, 2018, returning to Houston on January 18th. The round-trip flight on United is currently $746/person. I’ve been monitoring the flights for several months now, and this is nearly $200 less than when I originally started tracking. Would you suggest buying now or can I bet on prices dropping more as our travel date draws near? We’re traveling with our 5 and 3 year old daughters, so we really prefer a non-stop. Thank you for your advice!
Beat of Hawaii
Hi Staci.
Good price and nothing is likely to change, so do suggest buying.
Aloha.

I am looking at a flight to Honolulu from LAX at 668 round trip on Virgin for thanks giving week .. is that a good price ?
Michaleen
Im looking to visit in October 2017 or November to see chaminade university. When can I get a flight for under $600?
Thanks!
Aloha 🌼
Beat of Hawaii
Hi Michaleen.
No indication where you are flying from. Your IP address indicates you’re near Washington DC. Looks like fares will be in the $800’s. A few are at $700 in early October, but then it takes 22 hours and 3 flights to get there.
Aloha.

Hello,
We are a family of 6 flying to Kauai from SF Bay area (any of the three airlines) January 5th to the 12th. We can shift our days by two either way. I am seeing a flight from Hawaiian Airlines for $460.00 RT. Is that the best rate that I will find for that time?
Very grateful for any help/advice you can offer.
Thank you!!
Beat of Hawaii
Hi Trina.
It might come down a bit if you wait. Perhaps target low $400’s RT. You should be fine in terms of availability if you hold off.
Aloha.
Joyce
Hello, my family of 5 is traveling from San Francisco, CA to Honolulu, from May 11, 2018, through May 18, 2018. We are looking for extra comfort, seating. Right now, the price is $688.00, would you please tell me if this is worth taking or waiting.
Thank you
Beat of Hawaii
Hi Joyce.
For your off-season dates we’d suggest waiting. The Bay Area will be a particularly volatile market in 2018 and there should be excellent sales from which you can upgrade. Extra comfort adds $160 RT, so you might target about $550 as total price, or less. We can’t say when that might occur, but you should be safe to wait.
Aloha.
Mark
We are planning a trip from the Baltimore/Washington area to Kauai for late July to early August 2018. Tickets look to be me about $1000. Am I better to buy now or do you think with more available carriers in 2018 the risk of waiting for a possible lower fare is worth the wait? Thank You.
Beat of Hawaii
Hi Mark.
As we mentioned to someone earlier, it is too early to know how more west coast competition will impact flights from further afield. Also you’re traveling in high season. $1,000 is expected price. Can’t say it will improve, but if you’re flexible in your travel plans, hang out with us and we’ll all find out what the airlines have in mind.
Aloha.
Ciara
Hello! My name is Ciara and my husband and I are looking to do a trip to Honolulu for about a week in January of 2018. Would you please help us plan our trip? We are VERY flexible with dates, length of stay and even the airport we fly out of. We live in Iowa and can fly out of Des Moines, Cedar Rapids or drive a bit to Chicago, Minneapolis, or Kansas City if it would save us some money. When would you say the best time to book is? What should be our target price? Thank you!!
Beat of Hawaii
Hi Ciara.
Omaha-Honolulu $552 on Delta in January with good connection. Or $576 on Alaska from Kansas City. Would grab that now if it works. Otherwise Des Moines is $200 more, Chicago or Minneapolis about $100 more.
ALoha.
Cindy
Aloha! I am planning a trip for next JUNE 16-24 2018 to Oahu (HNL) from washington DC (IAD). currently the flights are about $1200. Do you think that the price will go down in the next few months?
Thanks for your help!
Cindy
Beat of Hawaii
Hi Cindy.
Normally we would say no to summer prices dropping. But with the changes coming in 2018, it is a possibility, even with connecting service such as from IAD. Suggest waiting with target of under $1,000. Good luck!
Aloha.
Annie
Hi,
I’m traveling from San Diego to HNL Jan 11 – Jan 16. Airfares is currently $520 on Hawaiian Airlines. Do you think it would be cheaper if I’m waiting?
Thank you.
Beat of Hawaii
Hi Annie.
Fare is $447 as of this morning on Hawaiian. Good price and would suggest buying.
Aloha.
Jessica
Aloha! We (2 adults 1 child) are travelling to Maui from 7/26 to 8/2/2018 coming from the Bay Area, California (San Francisco, Oakland or San Jose). Is it better to purchase flights now or to wait? What are the best deals? We are open to any of the 3 departure cities. I really appreciate your help. Mahalo!
Beat of Hawaii
Hi Jessica.
Because of all of the upcoming flight changes, you might be better off waiting a bit. Currently $556 but we’d suggest a target price of under $500.
Aloha.
Jessica
Mahalo! Are you saying you are seeing $556 round trip? How long would you suggest I wait? And where are the best places to look? I really appreciate your help!
Beat of Hawaii
Hi Jessica.
Yes. We can’t say how long you may need to wait. Perhaps up until next spring. Otherwise, bird in hand – $556 is a good price for your dates.
Aloha.
Jessica
Mahalo! Last question (I promise). Where did you see the $556 price? Maybe I’ll book it now so that I get a good deal. 🙂 MAHALO MAHALO MAHALO!!!
Beat of Hawaii
Hi Jessica.
This all changes daily. As of right now, $556 available on American with one stop in LAX. Otherwise $631 nonstop on Hawaiian. For your dates those are really quite good and most years you’d expect $700 to $1,000 for that route/dates.
Aloha.

Hi, I plan on travelling in April after Spring Break 2018 around April 10 -20. Will prices go down for this time frame?
John
Hi,
Traveling from Los Angeles(LAX) to Honolulu Jan 14-20.
Airfares keep dropping over the last month with Hawaiian Airlines currently at $540 RT plus luggage.
LAX airfares don’t seem to drop lower than this. Is this the time to book?
Thank you, John.
Beat of Hawaii
Hi John.
Hard to predict for 2018. Target price is about $500 so it could come down a bit, if you’d like to try waiting. Availability should be fine.
Aloha.
Brittney
Hi there!
This website has a wealth of information on it! Thank you so much for compiling all of it. i was wondering if you know what the cheapest flights out of Nashville and Charlotte look like typically? As of this morning the flights out of Nashville are $802 each, which is about $150 less than they have been for quite some time now. The flight out of Charlotte are a little more expensive at $861 each (not sure how those normally look). My family and I will be arriving in Honolulu on May 7th and departing on May 14th. Due to the significant drop in the price today I am considering booking now but realize that I am still very far out from my travel dates. Do you think that the ticket prices could still drop some more or should I go ahead and jump on the $800 tickets?
Thanks so much for your time!
-Brittney
Beat of Hawaii
Hi Brittney.
Thank you. Charlotte is about $850+ but Nashville can have fares off-season in the mid $600’s. Definitely would wait for target price if Nashville works for you. Unknown when that might happen – later this year or early in 2018.
Aloha.
Brittney
Great! Thank you so much for your insight. I will keep watching for the fares to drop a bit more.
Michelle
I’m in Alaska and planning a retirement/family trip from 5/26 to 6/2. I plan on flying into HNL and then going on to Molokai. Any advice?
Pamela H
Hello,
My family (4 adults, a 5 yr old and a 15 month old) will be flying to Lihue March 10 – March 24, 2018 from Richmond, Virginia. When would be the best time to book our flight in order to get seats together and get a reasonable rate? They are currently over $1200 per ticket. With the new flights from the west coast to Hawaii at the beginning of 2018, should we first book to one of the west coat cities and then one from that city to Lihue? Thank you so much for your advice.
Beat of Hawaii
Hi Pamela.
You’re planning a high-season spring break vacation. Also it is early in the delivery time-frame of the new aircraft.
Thus it is hard to predict and unlikely you will see any downward fluctuation in current prices unfortunately.
Aloha.
MELSSA
Hi, I am coming from Lawton OK and planning trip to Maui Aug. 16-23 2018. Where can I find the cheapest package deals for flight and hotel? And when should I book it?
Jacquie
We are heading to the Big Island from SLC January 4th, 2018. So far airfare is staying around $800. Please share any thoughts on when we should take the plunge and purchase to hopefully get the best fares.
Thanks!
Beat of Hawaii
Hi Jacquie.
More like $650 today with good connection, depending on your return date. Not bad and probably won’t improve much if at all.
Aloha.

Hi there! My girlfriend and i are looking to fly to either honolulu or maui (departing from winnipeg/ YWG CANADA). Have not decided on dates, possibly between oct-feb but we are pretty open. Please let us know what dates/months would be cheapest to fly and when we should probably book if possible?
thank you so much!!
Beat of Hawaii
Hi Kevin.
Currently on Westjet mid $400’s round trip to HNL and about $100 more to OGG, other than December. Good prices. Doubtful those will improve. Fall is a great time to visit. Actually anytime is. That’s Hawaii.
Aloha.
Lydia
Hi, my fiancé and are looking to take our honeymoon to Hawaii in May. We would leave probably May 7ish and come back around May 17.
When would be the best time to buy our plane tickets? We’ve been looking for weeks but so far prices either haven’t changed much or have gone up.
What would be an ideal price too? We have never traveled to Hawaii. We would probably be open to landing/leaving in either Kau or Hnl.
Thank you for any advice! This site was very helpful!
Beat of Hawaii
Hi Lydia.
You didn’t say where you are traveling from. But generally speaking since next year has a lot of variable, and you’re traveling off season, we’d suggest waiting for some time. From west coast cities thinks may start to shake up for spring travel either this fall or winter.
Aloha.
Cindy
Hi My name is Cindy! I will be traveling to Maui from Mpls late Feb 2018. My question is …
I have been looking at flights already and seen one for $880 round trip with car. I am staying for two weeks. I thought that sounded pretty good. Should I wait a while since it is so far out? This will be my 4th trip to Maui! Thanks for any info you or from any other Hawaii Lovers!
Beat of Hawaii
Hi Cindy.
Looks like airfares will run about $700 with a good connection. For less cost you can take a very long connections (like 20 hours) and perhaps pay in $500’s. Not sure it will come down by waiting, but probably no harm in doing so either.
Aloha.
Lisa
Hi!
It will be our first time traveling to the Big Island (Kona)! We are traveling from SLC. We are traveling from 4/1-4/8/18. I have started looking at flights, but they are still really high. Any advice is greatly appreciate. Please let me know if you think prices will decrease.
Thanks for your help and time!
Beat of Hawaii
Hi Lisa.
If you can’t change dates it will be very costly. Doubtful they will decrease. That’s peak week of spring travel.
Aloha.

Hi! Thank you very much for the information on your website. I just subscribed to your newsletter and look forward to learning more.
We love the Hawaiian Islands, and are very familiar with The Big Island in particular. Usually I bargain shop for flights, and try to fly dates with the cheapest fares, so would typically book air first, then condos/hotels. My experience has been that I have gotten the best deals on airfare in mid to late January for flights after the kids get out of school in mid to late June. Usually, I’ve been able to get direct flights on Alaska or United between the SF Bay Area and Kona, for example, for around $400 r/t.
Next summer we have an unusual situation with very specific travel dates and condos are already booked. Thought my father-in-law was giving us a bunch of United miles to use for airline tix, but he has changed his mind. So now I need to look at purchasing and am wondering if you have any advice about whether waiting to buy might result in lower prices. Right now, Hawaiian Air seems to have the best R/T price between Oakland and Kahului for our dates (6/29 – 7/9/18) at about $650.
Mahalo in advance for your time and consideration. Hope you are enjoying a pleasant weekend and look forward to hearing your insights when it’s convenient for you to reply.
Beat of Hawaii
Hi Anastasia.
If you’re a gambling person, you might wait since new flights could bring some additional savings. On the other hand that’s a very good price for high season dates already. So if you don’t want to risk it, then buy at $650 and don’t look back.
Aloha.
Ronette
Hi there,
I’m looking way ahead, but just curious to know if you know of an est. cost for March flights to Maui?
The dates between March 23rd-Beg of April.
Thanks for your help!

Hi Ronette.
Where are you starting your trip?

Hi there,
I plan to fly out from Seattle.
Thanks for your help!
Please let me know if you need any other info from me.

Beat of Hawaii
Hi Ronette.
You’re probably looking at $750 for your spring break dates. Not sure those prices will improve for your dates. It is doubtful.
Aloha.

I plan to travel to Maui (OGG) from either Oakland, CA (OAK), San Jose, CA or LAX or SFO from May 19, 2018 to June 2, 2018. Which airport is cheapest to fly from? What would anticipated rate range be? How soon should I book? Should I wait a while? Are certain days cheaper to fly in my date range? I prefer direct flight. There will be 5 or 6 adults and one lap infant (6 months old).
Amy
We are planning a family trip to the Big Island flying into Kona at the end of January 2018. I was wondering when would be the best time to book flights. We are flying from Salt Lake City, UT. Prices right now are around $630. Are those prices likely to go down?
Thanks for all your help. Your website has been so helpful!
Beat of Hawaii
Hi Amy.
Best price target is about $550 and that might or might not happen. There won’t be new flights in that time frame.
Aloha.
Joelle
Hi,
I have enjoyed reading all your advice about traveling to Hawaii! I am planning a trip to Hawaii over the Christmas/New Year’s holidays for 5 people. I am wondering if I should book my airline tickets now or wait longer. We are leaving from Spokane, WA and heading to Maui (OGG) mid December (16-18?). We will have to leave Maui Jan. 1. We must use Alaska Air, since we have our campanion fares to use. Do you suggest I book now or wait? Tickets were $1300 last week and now they are $1500. The Hopper app says I can wait and maybe save $500. I am concerned about waiting because it looks like cheap fares are disappearing and there are fewer time options as I wait. I would love to hear your thoughts.
Thank you in advance,
Joelle
Beat of Hawaii
Hi Joelle.
It looks like your dates could be selling out. Also, arguably you’re selecting the two most expensive weekends of the year for Hawaii travel. Not sure it will improve or just sell out. You can gamble and wait, or lock it while it is available. Hard to suggest.
Aloha.
Heather A
We’re planning our first trip to Hawaii for next August 2018. By that time hopefully some of the new planes/routes will be in place. When would be the best time to search for flights for Aug 2018?
DANNY
Hello,
Do you know when Hawaii Airlines or any airfire will have Round Trips under $400 again flying from SJC to Oahu in December of this year?
Also, what is the weather like in December? Thank you!!!
Beat of Hawaii
Hi Danny.
Not likely. Best we expect to see is low $400’s which is available on and off for first two weeks of December only. Keep a lookout for our updates as you see this again soon. December can have rain or it might be completely dry. Hard to predict. The weather moreover is generally great in Hawaii. December will have cooler days and nights say compared with August.
Aloha.

Hi Glad I found your website, lots of great info to help plan that perfect Hawaiian vacation.
My family and I are planning to head to Oahu this coming (early) November flying out of Seattle, WA to HNL. We prefer to fly on Hawaiian Airlines and have been checking their website and Kayak for and deals. Currently RT is coming in around $600. Any chance we’ll see that price dip anytime soon. A bit skittish about waiting to long looking for a deal that may or may not show up. we did the same trip a couple of years ago and tickets were around $500.RT. Any advice?
Many Thanks
B.
Beat of Hawaii
Hi Bruce.
Thanksgiving or early November? $559 except for Thanksgiving. Could improve but no clear indication it will. If you’re not comfortable waiting, then you’ll have to pay up. For mid-week off-Thanksgiving travel, you should be fine to wait until the end to book. But it is all about comfort level and airlines are betting that you won’t like doing that. 🙂
Aloha.
Rocky
Hi, we’re planning a trip from the week after Thanksgiving till the 4th of December. Prices ranging from anywhere from 600-1000. Do you think I should wait till the end of August to see of prices will go down or buy now. Thank you.
Beat of Hawaii
Hi Rocky,
From Dallas the week after Thanksgiving, there are $747 nonstop fares to Honolulu (since you did not say where you were flying from or to). Unless you want to puddle skip, that’s a good price.
Aloha.
Terry
Good morning from Chicago. In 2018 me a few friends were planning on taking a girls trip to Hawaii. We have lodging but need to find the best airfare so we can spend our $$ on enjoying the Islands beauty. We love the outdoors and love to experience culture. What is the best month of the year to fly to Hawaii to be cost effective and what is the best season to catch some local activities on the Islands (Festivals)?
Nadia
Aloha! I just checked on a flight from HNL to ITO and it’s around $200 RT in October. I don’t remember it being so high before. Would you know why it’s so much pricier than the other islands and do you think the fare will drop?
Thank you so much for the advice! Really appreciate all your posts!
Beat of Hawaii
Hi Nadia.
True enough. In a word, no competition.
Aloha.

Aloha!! So glad we found your awesome website!! Thank you for sharing such great information!!
Our family of 6 is planning a trip to Oahu on June 2, 2018 thru June 7, 2018. We are able to fly out of Omaha, NE or Kansas City. Our kids ages will be 19, 17, 15 and 14. We have our hotel booked and are looking at airline tickets….they are around $1000+ each right now. Could you please advise when would be a good time to book and how much you think tickets will be??
Thank you so much in advance for any suggestions.
Beat of Hawaii
Hi Tiffany.
Thank you! You’re probably looking at $600’s RT with a good connection (10 hours). Currently pricing at about $800+. Timing to find that could be anywhere from fall through spring.
Aloha.
Connie
Hi,
I’m going to Hawaii this coming January and I was wondering what the typical range was in terms of cost from NY. The last time I went to Hawaii was in October and the flight was about ~$700 RT but I heard January was a popular time because of surfing competitions so I should expect higher prices. Would it be best to book early?
Thank you!
Beat of Hawaii
Hi Connie.
Fares could come down by waiting, if you’re flexible on days of week. Currently mid $800’s. We’d target mid $700’s.
Aloha.
Connie
Thank you!
Amy
Aloha! You gave us good advice for our January 2017 trip to Oahu and I’m trying to make it work to visit again mid-June of next year. I keep reading on your site that 2018 should be great for Hawaii travel and I was wondering if this would apply to departure cities of Nashville, St. Louis or Louisville, which are all a do-able drive for us. Right now airfare is quite a bit higher for those dates than we paid in January. Thanks for any advice!
Beat of Hawaii
Hi Amy.
Glad we’ve been able to help previously! First, January is probably too soon for new planes to have any impact. That might happen late in first quarter and beyond. Second, since you’re flying from the east, you might only be helped with UAL fare reductions based on unknown flights they might add to Hawaii. Those would be from the west coast but could help in reducing connection fares. Hope that makes sense.
Aloha.

We would like to travel to the Big Island from St. Louis in late July/early August 2018 with our 1 and 5 yr old. When is the best time to book flights and what would be a good price?
Hi Laurie.
For mid-August on, maybe low $600’s. For earlier than that, target low $700’s. Some of those are available now. July can get tight for air and accommodation availability. Not so much so in August.

Thank you!!
Hi Ciara.
Omaha-Honolulu $552 on Delta in January with good connection. Or $576 on Alaska from Kansas City. Would grab that now if it works. Otherwise Des Moines is $200 more, Chicago or Minneapolis about $100 more.
ALoha.
Aloha! I am planning a trip for next JUNE 16-24 2018 to Oahu (HNL) from washington DC (IAD). currently the flights are about $1200. Do you think that the price will go down in the next few months?
Thanks for your help!
Cindy
Hi Cindy.
Normally we would say no to summer prices dropping. But with the changes coming in 2018, it is a possibility, even with connecting service such as from IAD. Suggest waiting with target of under $1,000. Good luck!
Aloha.
Hi,
I’m traveling from San Diego to HNL Jan 11 – Jan 16. Airfares is currently $520 on Hawaiian Airlines. Do you think it would be cheaper if I’m waiting?
Thank you.
Hi Annie.
Fare is $447 as of this morning on Hawaiian. Good price and would suggest buying.
Aloha.
Mahalo!
Hi Jessica.
Because of all of the upcoming flight changes, you might be better off waiting a bit. Currently $556 but we’d suggest a target price of under $500.
Aloha.
Mahalo! Are you saying you are seeing $556 round trip? How long would you suggest I wait? And where are the best places to look? I really appreciate your help!
Hi Jessica.
Yes. We can’t say how long you may need to wait. Perhaps up until next spring. Otherwise, bird in hand – $556 is a good price for your dates.
Aloha.
Mahalo! Last question (I promise). Where did you see the $556 price? Maybe I’ll book it now so that I get a good deal. 🙂 MAHALO MAHALO MAHALO!!!
Hi,
Traveling from Los Angeles(LAX) to Honolulu Jan 14-20.
Airfares keep dropping over the last month with Hawaiian Airlines currently at $540 RT plus luggage.
LAX airfares don’t seem to drop lower than this. Is this the time to book?
Thank you, John.
Hi John.
Hard to predict for 2018. Target price is about $500 so it could come down a bit, if you’d like to try waiting. Availability should be fine.
Aloha.
-Brittney
Hi Brittney.
Thank you. Charlotte is about $850+ but Nashville can have fares off-season in the mid $600’s. Definitely would wait for target price if Nashville works for you. Unknown when that might happen – later this year or early in 2018.
Aloha.
Great! Thank you so much for your insight. I will keep watching for the fares to drop a bit more.
I’m in Alaska and planning a retirement/family trip from 5/26 to 6/2. I plan on flying into HNL and then going on to Molokai. Any advice?
Hello,
My family (4 adults, a 5 yr old and a 15 month old) will be flying to Lihue March 10 – March 24, 2018 from Richmond, Virginia.
Hi Pamela.
You’re planning a high-season spring break vacation. Also it is early in the delivery time-frame of the new aircraft.
Thus it is hard to predict and unlikely you will see any downward fluctuation in current prices unfortunately.
Aloha.
Hi, I am coming from Lawton OK and planning trip to Maui Aug. 16-23 2018. Where can I find the cheapest package deals for flight and hotel? And when should I book it?
We are heading to the Big Island from SLC January 4th, 2018. So far airfare is staying around $800. Please share any thoughts on when we should take the plunge and purchase to hopefully get the best fares.
Thanks!
Hi Kevin.
Currently on Westjet mid $400’s round trip to HNL and about $100 more to OGG, other than December. Good prices. Doubtful those will improve. Fall is a great time to visit. Actually anytime is. That’s Hawaii.
Aloha.
Hi Lydia.
You didn’t say where you are traveling from. But generally speaking since next year has a lot of variable, and you’re traveling off season, we’d suggest waiting for some time. From west coast cities thinks may start to shake up for spring travel either this fall or winter.
Aloha.
Hi Cindy.
Looks like airfares will run about $700 with a good connection. For less cost you can take a very long connections (like 20 hours) and perhaps pay in $500’s. Not sure it will come down by waiting, but probably no harm in doing so either.
Aloha.
Hi Anastasia.
If you’re a gambling person, you might wait since new flights could bring some additional savings. On the other hand that’s a very good price for high season dates already. So if you don’t want to risk it, then buy at $650 and don’t look back.
Aloha.
Hi there,
I’m looking way ahead, but just curious to know if you know of an est. cost for March flights to Maui?
The dates between March 23rd-Beg of April.
Thanks for your help!
Hi Ronette.
Where are you starting your trip?
Aloha.
Hi there,
I plan to fly out from Seattle.
Thanks for your help!
Please let me know if you need any other info from me.
Best,
Ronette
Hi Amy.
Best price target is about $550 and that might or might not happen. There won’t be new flights in that time frame.
Aloha.
Hi,
I have enjoyed reading all your advice about traveling to Hawaii!
Thank you in advance,
Joelle
Hi Joelle.
It looks like your dates could be selling out. Also, arguably you’re selecting the two most expensive weekends of the year for Hawaii travel. Not sure it will improve or just sell out. You can gamble and wait, or lock it while it is available. Hard to suggest.
Aloha.
We’re planning our first trip to Hawaii for next August 2018. By that time hopefully some of the new planes/routes will be in place. When would be the best time to search for flights for Aug 2018?
Hello,
Do you know when Hawaii Airlines or any airfire will have Round Trips under $400 again flying from SJC to Oahu in December of this year?
Also, what is the weather like in December? Thank you!!!
Hi Danny.
Any advice?
Many Thanks
B.
Aloha.
Hi, we’re planning a trip from the week after Thanksgiving till the 4th of December. Prices ranging from anywhere from 600-1000. Do you think I should wait till the end of August to see of prices will go down or buy now. Thank you.
Hi Rocky,
From Dallas the week after Thanksgiving, there are $747 nonstop fares to Honolulu (since you did not say where you were flying from or to). Unless you want to puddle skip, that’s a good price.
Aloha.
Aloha! I just checked on a flight from HNL to ITO and it’s around $200 RT in October. I don’t remember it being so high before. Would you know why it’s so much pricier than the other islands and do you think the fare will drop?
Thank you so much for the advice! Really appreciate all your posts!
Hi Tiffany.
Thank you! You’re probably looking at $600’s RT with a good connection (10 hours). Currently pricing at about $800+. Timing to find that could be anywhere from fall through spring.
Aloha.
Hi,
I’m going to Hawaii this coming January and I was wondering what the typical range was in terms of cost from NY. The last time I went to Hawaii was in October and the flight was about ~$700 RT but I heard January was a popular time because of surfing competitions so I should expect higher prices. Would it be best to book early?
Thank you!
Hi Connie.
Fares could come down by waiting, if you’re flexible on days of week. Currently mid $800’s. We’d target mid $700’s.
Aloha.
Thank you!
Aloha.
