  1. Aloha!
    Please and Thank You 🙂
It will be our very first chance to travel with our 18 month old and our very first to Hawaii 🙂
Flying from SEA 2 adults+toddler, flexible dates for 2 weeks, and flexible with activities.
I would appreciate any recommendations on cheap flights, travel dates and which island/city to go.

    Thanks!
    Anna d

    1. Hi Anna.

Our focus is on getting you here on a budget. Where to do and what to do is another matter. There are many online guides and your library undoubtedly has many Hawaii travel books.

From Seattle you can expect to spent from just over $300 RT. Keep your eye out as we frequently post deals from Seattle. Best prices are for spring, late summer and fall, mid-week.

      Aloha.

  2. looking for airfare for 4 (2 adults, w kids 13+)
Mar 15th, 2020 – departing PDX, to Honolulu
March 18th, afternoon from Honolulu to Maui ( Kahului )
March 23, Return from Maui to PDX

Can connect from Eugene OR for departure city if needed.

  3. Hi – We are looking to fly from Boston to Honolulu leaving between 7/31 and 8/3, spending 2 nights then hopping to Maui for 5 and Kauai for 4 before returning. Any recommendations for flights. Having a hard time finding anything under $1000-$1200.
    Thanks

    1. Hi Sarah.

We just looked at RT to Honolulu for simplicity and since inter-island fares are so cheap. 7/31-8/13 on United for $641 RT with good connections.

      Aloha.

  4. Please and thank you! WE want to fly to Kauai on October 2,2020 and return on October 14th. We would like to fly out of San Luis Obispo or SAN Jose.

    1. Hi Cheryl.

Best price by far will be from San Jose. Your Friday departure will be more expensive than your mid-week return. So best price is maybe $179+ outbound and $139 return.

      Aloha.

  5. Aloha! PLEASE and THANK YOU🏝
Trying to get to the Big Island for a long in the making family gather.
    My clan is In Kona.
I want to go from Boise, Idaho at end of March.
Seeking reasonable fare on most direct flight. Any advice? Please and thank you.

    1. Hi Jennifer.

Best thing we’re finding is $481 RT on United with a quick connection. 3/25-4/1. There are few decent possibilities because that is the peak of spring break. Weekends add $120 or so. Not likely to improve.

      Aloha.

    2. Its feb 23rd..
“Were the deals posted on feb 21 for 0only 1 day?!?

I’ve been trying to find lower fares to big island or kaui
      From stl.lambert airport missouri,..

      Please help”

      1. Hi Kevin.

Yes that’s how the airline industry works. When we post the deals, you need to buy them right then, not hours or days later.

        Aloha.

  6. Very amused at the “fare wars” being vmcreated by Southwest but only a handful of markets on the west coast. We visited three islands in 2018 and 2019 and never paid over $300 from Phoenix. Even the off season fares are a far cry from where they were prior to Southwest e tering the market. Looking at other travel options unfortunately.

    1. Hi Sharon.

There are a lot of $600 RT mid-week fares in March, April and May. 1-stop with quick connections on multiple airlines. That’s to Maui, and Kauai is just $30 or so more.

      Aloha.

  7. Hi, I love following your page and appreciate the tips and travel info. I was wondering what your thoughts are on flights in July from Ptld or Seattle to Kona going on sale?
    Thanks!

    1. Hi Caldwell.

Thank you. Portland is available starting at $400 RT in July and Seattle $500. Those are way below the average price, which would be $700. So good price and good tine to buy.

      Aloha.

  8. Aloha!
When would you recommend I buy airline tickets from Tennessee to OGG for December 2020 visit? (Specifically December 16- January 2)
Also, not being familiar with traveling from the east to Maui, what is a good price in your experience?

    Thank you so much!

    1. Hi Maui.

You should buy now for highest season dates such as yours. Because of your return date, price will be around $1400 RT. Several hundred cheaper for 1/1 return and only $579 RT if you can come back on 1/5.

      Aloha.

  9. Question – I’ve been keeping an eye on flights between Kona and Honolulu for the week of Memorial Day, but nothing seems to drop below $59 when every Thursday leading up to that week is $39. Is that because of the holiday? Or will the price drop closer to the time? Thank you!

  10. I always see these special deals “To” Hawaii but I am wondering if these deals also apply “from” Hawaii to the mainland as well. Please advise how I can check this out. Thank you so much for your response.

    1. Hi Cindy.

Round trip airfares for your date start at $378 nonstop. Because you aren’t flying mid-week, need those dates, and it is at Memorial Day, you might just be safer buying at that price now.

      Aloha.

  11. These prices are great. Unfortunately we have to go at Christmas due to family vacation schedules. Do you think there might be any deals that week?

    1. Hi Bet.

Deals, no. Better prices than in most years, yes. You didn’t provide city pairs or exact dates for your travels, so that’s about all we can add.

      Aloha.

  12. Aloha! We are flying to Maui 8/11 and plan to hop a flight to Kona (on 8/11) for a few days and then return to Maui for a week. Hawaiian Airlines has r/t flights from OGG to KOA for $118. Do you expect these inter-island flights to much lower? Mahalo
