  1. Love your insights! Question for ya: planning to take the fam from LAX to HON around Thanksgiving week (which I know there is a premium), likely taking off the Fri prior to Turkey week and coming back that weekend after. I’m seeing $799 RT. Should I buy now or can I expect pricing to go down at any point? If the latter, when is a good time to buy? Thank you!

    1. Hi Carlos.

Thanks. That’s not a bad price. Can you check to see how much more a refundable ticket is. Lately that is sometimes available at only a small premium. If that’s the case you can buy but then keep looking for improvement. Hope that helps!

      Aloha.

  2. Thank you for providing all your great information!
Could you please help me decide if I should buy now or wait to purchase airfare?
We are looking to fly from Dallas to Kauai December 1 and back on December 8, but spending the night of the 1st enroute.
    What I am considering:
    DFW – LAX 12/1/2023, LAX – LIH 12/2/2022
LIH – DFW 12/8/2023 is pricing out at $671 for regular economy.

Do you think this is a good price, or should I wait?

Thank you for your help, it’s much appreciated.

    1. Hi Craig.

The price is okay if you need to lock the details in now. Otherwise, if you have any flexibility, and don’t mind waiting, the fare range for those low season dates could be from high $300s to $500s. You can expect that to occur within the last 60 to 90 days.

      Aloha.

  3. We have a cruise booked in hawaii from april 1-8, 2023. I haven’t bought airline tickets yet. When would be the cheapest and safest time between now (12/20/22) and then, to buy airline tickets?

  4. We are trying to buy flights to Maui April 2-8 when CA schools are on break. Do you think there will be Cyber Monday deals? Or will they black out that week? Direct flights are currently $1k r/t.

  5. Flying in Mid April 2023, should we be looking to buy now or wait and see if prices come down? Thanks

    1. Hi Dallas.

For dates after spring break, especially midweek, it is best to wait until about 90 days out.

      Aloha.
