  1. Why would the airlines lower prices and start a Fare War when the Governor is asking for less people to come to Hawaii?
    This sound irresponsible.

  2. The market is over saturated because SWA has over expanded into the market. Hawaii is not geared for what used to be called a backpacker
airline trying to get as much market share as they can. A lot of the type of tourism we experienced this summer was a result of the opening the spigot of pent up demand and no balance of International travel….it will fix itself to a certain degree but make no mistake about it, the tourist market of this summer is not sustainable. The tourists this year brought a lot more stress to the resources with less money spent to benefit Hawaii then is healthy.

  3. We had an Alaska Air reservation but the nonstop flight LAX – LIH has been cancelled.
When might there be another fare sale for ticketing 12/3-12/17? Any insight?

Hoping to see lower fares on another airline. And the Alaska options would double the flight time to 11-14 hrs from nonstop!

Thank you for everything you do to keep us on top of things.

    1. Hi Kathie.

Thanks, Alaska Airlines has never flown nonstop between LA and Kauai, although 5 other airlines do. Yes, there may be more for travel completed by mid-December.

      Aloha
