  1. I just booked (on March 5, 2022) a one-way from SLC to LIH on April 30 (a Sunday). I used miles, but would have been $219 on SWA for their lowest fare. But, from LIH to LAX on May 19 (Thursday) was only $119. $340 RT is still pretty good compared with years ago.

  2. Hi guys,
First, thank you so much for the endless amount of priceless information you provide. It is sooo appreciated.
My question is do you think September fares will see any decrease from what they are currently? We’re headed to Kauai the 14th of September and we were hoping that by waiting we might see fares go down. Any insight??
    Thanks again!

    1. Hi Erin.

Thank you! So normally (whatever that now means) we’d suggest waiting for fare sales for September travel since it is low season. You didn’t mention where you’re coming from but we used LAX to check. In that market, the fares are $350. Given what “seems” to be happening, that might actually turn out to be a very good fare. So you can either take your chances or buy at $350 and not look back. Please let us know what you do and how it works out.

      Aloha.

  3. We’re planning a trip to The Big Island at the end of October probably flying from LAX. Then return from HNL LAX 2weeks later. Should we book now or do you expect airfare to drop by then?
