  1. Hi, can you please identify the source for the updated flight information noted in the article:
    https://beatofhawaii.com/hawaiian-airlines-flight-cancellations/
which states Mainland US to Hawaii flights are suspended until June 1? I am trying to cancel a booking for May 17-22, 2020 and the airline is telling me that my flight is still operating..? The information in this article is not on Hawaiian Airlines official website; the dates they have only run through end of April..? Very confusing.
I would like some back-up documentation to help my case to get my tickets refunded. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

    1. Hi Dominick.

The source was the actual availability for booking on the airline’s website. Those flights were removed as indicated.

Have your read our article and seen discussions we have had with U.S. DOT? https://beatofhawaii.com/wait-to-get-your-refund-and-maybe-more-hawaii-flights-cancelled/.

We cannot say for sure, but if airlines have their flights removed from the schedule, DOT “might” in the future construe that to mean cancelled, which then compels the offer of refunds. This is an industry wide situation that continues to evolve wherein the airlines are sitting on a multi billion dollar liability.

In reality, travel to Hawaii is not feasible at this time, as all arrivals are subject to a mandatory 14-day isolation that means you must be sequestered in your hotel room, period. No beach, no grocery store, nothing. We do not know when that will end for sure, but hope to learn more soon.

You will need to wait a bit to see what happens, but hopefully that clarifies the situation and answers your question.

      Aloha.

    2. UPDATE: My wife and I received our refund IN FULL for our airfare related to our trip originally scheduled 5/17 thru 5/22. While it took much longer than I feel comfortable with, it’s nice to finally be able to put this behind us. I hope everyone gets refunds that are owed to them. Thanks for everyone’s comments, support and advice – be well.

      1. I received email notification that my flight would be refunded too. Took a very long time and lots of replies from Hawaiian Airlines that I would not be refunded because change was less than 6 hours. Even up to last week they were holding to that.

First I complained to HA consumer affairs back in May. Then a few days later filed complaint to DOT and Credit Card. All for nothing. Then someone on here suggested the BBB. I filed with them and immediately got a reply from HA with the same 6hrs sorry no refund. Then BBB sent me notification of HA same reply and asked if I accepted that reply. I refused to accept and sent my explanation why.

10 days later from HA “We are constantly reviewing our polices as the situation with the C0VID-19 pandemic evolves. We’ve made some revisions to our policy and your tickets under ###### are now eligible for a refund. We will process the refund to the original card used for payment. This should occur within the next 7 days.

Thank you for choosing Hawaiian Airlines. We look forward to welcoming you onboard a Hawaiian Airlines flight in the future.”

So finally a resolution. I don’t know if they truly reviewed policies or if in the end it was my refusal to accept response to BBB that did it. Regardless I am thankful. Flight was for may 16 through June 2. So for those still working it, don’t give up and don’t take no for an answer. Worst case you put out a bunch of energy and end up with the replacement flight before end of May 2022. Honestly all of this has me rethinking future air travel and any future travel I will be spending extra for fully refundable flights.

Good luck to all and thank you Beat of Hawaii for providing this resource. It has kept me calm throughout the process and has given me the information needed to get some closure. This airfare money can definitely be put to better use right now.

  2. Could you please tell me when Hawaiian Air resumed their flights from SJC to OGG. We thought they were cancelled on their web site but now seem to be available. We had reservations and cancelled everything because of what we read on your site and then saw on their site. Very confused! Thanks

    1. Hi Laurie.

Hawaiian announced that they were only flying essential service through May 20, then subsequently flights through the rest of the month were removed from their website.

In any event, if flights operate, you would be subject to a 14 day mandatory isolation unless and until that requirement is removed by the State of Hawaii. That includes no beaches, no grocery, no leaving your hotel room. That is in large part why Hawaiian has cancelled or removed flights.

      Aloha.

  3. Have to wait another 19 days more than I planned to see Pualani come back to Boston 😢
Thankfully, our trip was completed right before it got really crazy… We hope to be back to Hawaii the winter AFTER next, but we will book well ahead for sure. Thanks for all the info BoH!

  4. good morning,

my wife and I are scheduled to depart hnl on 2 may flight HA50. I now read all flights to east coast are cancelled until 1 june. can I expect any help with finding another route to east coast (new york, new jersey, Philadelphia) . need to make living arrangements, car rental and banking decisions. your help with any information will be great help.

    thank you

    William&anne c

    1. Hi William.

The best you can reasonably expect from Hawaiian is to be rescheduled or to obtain a refund. Since they are operating the essential service to Los Angeles and San Francisco from Honolulu daily, you could also discuss with them switching to that.

      Aloha.

  5. Can you tell me please if my Hawaiian Airlines flight from Boston, Massachusetts to Honolulu on 5/30 is cancelled? Thankyou! Mardi S

    1. Hi Mardi.

“Cancelled” is an official term. The flight is not operating, but it may or may not be cancelled yet. You’ll need to contact the airline..

      Aloha.

    2. Mardi I sure hope you get to fly… Looks like it’s going to be June 1st now unfortunately. You’ll LOVE the flight! Best 11 hours ever! (We had a “short” flight at 10:48) The Flight Attendants are AMAZING, there’s food, Mai tais, Hawaiian themed movies/tv (pack a tablet/device with your own stuff too tho!) I always pick the right hand side to sit for two reasons… you can’t see the other islands too well on the descent on the way in, but you get the first good look at diamond head as you come off the runway AND the sun shines on the other side of the plane the whole trip!

IF you can’t go nonstop from Boston, Hawaiian MAY be able to reciprocal book you or re-accommodate you somehow via the west coast using JetBlue or even another airline. You may have to be a bit flexible to do it-perhaps you’d need to leave a day early to catch the one or two Hawaiian flights from the west coast via LAX/SFO at ~10am. Unfortunately, I don’t think the current JetBlue schedule from Boston can get you to LAX or SFO in time for those flights but I could be wrong. I believe the first JetBlue LAX flight (on regular schedule) arrives to LAX from BOS at 10:15am pacific. The other airlines’s early flights are similarly timed. Good luck and much Aloha!

  6. Good Morning
will your company be sending cash refunds for cancelled flight? Thank you and have a great day.

  7. Hawaiian Airlines said that just because the flight is not showing does not mean it is cancelled. They will not refund a flight unless it is “truly cancelled.” They just took down the information making it look like there are no flights. They are waiting until the flights get closer to the actual flight date before cancelling. However, if they cancel the flight you get a full refund. If you have a round trip flight, only one segment of the flight needs to have been cancelled and you will receive a refund. If you cancel your reservation before they cancel a flight, then you must rebook and use your flight before December 31,2020. If you bought upgrades they will be honored for the new reservation, and no change fees will be implemented. However they will charge you the difference in fare price. Also, your return trip can be after December 31, 2020.

  8. I was on the phone with Hawaiian airlines and they are telling me the flights in May are not cancelled yet and will not refund my flights. This email says that the flight from Long Beach to Honolulu is cancelled until June 1st. My flight is scheduled on May 12. Please clarify.

    1. Hi Emily.

The airlines, in this case Hawaian, have removed flights as we indicated from the schedules. We have reached out to the US DOT for clarification on this.

      Aloha.

  9. Thanks for this information- attempted to request refund for our 5/19-5/28 trip from New York – HNL – LIH via Hawaiian Airlines.. pleasantly surprised to get right through to customer service on the phone, but they are denying that these routes are cancelled and advised I’d need to file a complaint through Consumer Affairs to request a refund. They advised me to visit http://www.hawaiianairlines.com/CAO to do so (ha Ha)- which only takes me to their contact page. Really disappointed in their handling of this!

    1. Hi Laura.

Sorry to hear that. We are awaiting additional clarification regarding all the airlines from DOT on this.

      Aloha.

  10. I had a Hawaiian airlines ticket which is headed for Korea on 1st May. Today I got a massage from travel agency that the schedule has been cancelled. Yes, you are right. Thanks for informing me even fater than the official announcement.

  11. Just booked UA ORD-HNL-LIH last night for Oct. 8-23 FOR $477, other ROUTES WERE AS LOW AS $390

  12. Hello,

Just a quick question, please. Would you happen to know if the 14-day quar antine will still apply if flights resume on June 1st?

    Thank You.

    1. Hi Alex.

Please check back say early May as we will know a lot more then. At present we do not have an answer.

      Aloha.

  13. WE ARE STRANDED!!! Was supposed to leave April 1st only to wake to need that United flight is cancelled. Called immediately and only flight out that I could book was April 18th. Hawaiian and United are partners and I was told that Hawaiian cancelled the flight. Cancelled until June??? I cannot believe that either airline did not reach out to us to get us home, especially when planes were flying here nearly empty.

It is expensive to vacation here and we are incurring unexpected expenses. Received email from United CEO calling passengers family. REALLY????

  14. my flight to Hawaii from Los Angeles was suppose to leave on may 31, and now it got cancelled because it says flights resume June 1. I was just wondering if the resuming of flights might change again, or if June 1 is the earliest I could fly out ?
    Thanks!!

    1. Hi Nathan.

We just don’t know yet. What we are suggesting is to check back on this the beginning of May, by which time we and the entire travel industry hope to know more.

      Aloha.

  15. Hello,

First off, thank you for all of the information that you have provided on this site. So far, it has been very helpful!

I also wanted to provide you with some information that you can use at your discretion. I contacted Hawaiian Airlines this morning about a flight that I have from Seattle to Maui that leaves on May 19, and returns to Seattle on May 26. After reading your post, I assumed that this flight would be cancelled. However, I was told that this flight has not been cancelled. So, while I have no doubt that they will extend their cancellations in the upcoming weeks, I thought that I would let you know that not all flights have been cancelled through June 1 at this time. Thanks!

    1. Hi Zach.

Thanks for the nice words and for the info. It seems that airlines are posturing in relation to all of this. If the flight isn’t being sold any longer, then by every reasonable read, it is cancelled. That having been said, cancelling creates the situation wherein the DOT rules apply. We will seek some clarification from the carriers, but baring that, we’d suggest just being patient and it will either need to fly or cancel. We’d suggest that for your dates, it is pretty clear which that will be. We’ll also have additional information on that soon.

      Aloha.

  16. Hello,

Question for you guys. If I were to fly out to Oahu in early June (possibly the 1st), would I be subject to the 14-Day Quarantine?

  17. Hello,
Please advise me. I am scheduled to fly Sea-Hnl May 9th – 17th on Hawaiian Air. Flights have been discontinued until June. I would like a refund. Not a change and rebook voucher. Thank you.

  18. Hi there
Do you have any current information on Sydney-Honolulu return flights officially being cancelled,we have flights booked for Sydney -Honolulu 5/8
    Thank you
    Deb

    1. Hi Deb.

If you are asking about Hawaiian, on just checking, we do not see them operating that route in May at all.

      Aloha.

    2. Hi Thanks for your reply much appreciated, our flights are with Hawaiian Airlines but our Sydney – Honolulu flights are still showing flights as normal
Our dates are 5/8 returning 5/29 with several inter island flights in between all our flights are still showing as normal ,can you please advise

      1. Hi Deb.

Can suggest you contact them as we do not show those flights as operating.

        Aloha.

  19. Even though Hawaiian has announced they will be cancelling our May 14 flight to Kauai, they still have yet to do so. My understanding is that we really need to wait until we are cancelled prior to requesting a refund. Why are they not cancelling flights that they’ve already announced will be cancelled?

  20. Aloha,
Thanks again for the great info.
So this means May 2 is officially canceled? I thought they had cancelled everything till mid May and spent a long time texting (2 days ago) only to be told mine was not cancelled.
My question: My trip was May 2 – June 14th. Will they refund the whole ticket or try to say no because the 14th is after the resume date? Your thoughts?
    Thanks again
    Ane T
    Maui

    1. Hi Ane.

As far as we understand, everything other than the two “essential” flights had been officially cancelled even before this latest round. A prior comment asked a related question, where one of their travel dates was within the known flight stoppage and the other date was not. In their case they had two separate reservations. If this is on one PNR (reservation), then it should all get cancelled. Did you already try their online form for cancellation? In the end, if you don’t get an appropriate result, you can file a complaint with DOT. Someone reported yesterday that doing so for them resulted in a prompt refund. Not sure which airline that was.

      Aloha.

      1. Thanks!!! I did not contact DOT or my bank yet. What was so curious to me is that even tho they announced perviously all flights through mid May were cancelled, when I contacted them, they said they were not…..AND it was really hard to contact them. Had to jump thought a lot of hoops. Hope they mean it time. comparing this cancellation to Norwegian – WOW. that was straight-forward…!! One phone call, refund in 5 days.

Much Aloha to you both over there on Kauai. Stay safe and keep having some fun too.

        Maui

        1. Hi Ane.

Much aloha to you as well. You’re a great part of our community.

We are hearing this from multiple people regarding different airlines. Perhaps they are just dragging their feet as much as possible to preserve cash, are overwhelmed dealing with closer in dates, or both. Not sure. Sorry you are having this experience!

  21. Aloha, my husband and I have 2 one way, OGG to HNL, HNL to BOS first class flights booked forMay5. OutgranddUghter was to graduate from Keene State College in NH, and we were going. But since. Both graduation and flights are cancelled, we will continue on here in Maui until it will be safe enough to return tío the Mainland for a summer vacation! My husbands trip was booked using accumulated HA miles, and protected by insurance, mine has been paid with $$. What steps shall we take to begin to process our refund of both miles and money. Mahalo for your help!

    1. Hi Judith.

Have you accessed the online change form found here, https://www.hawaiianairlines.com/OnlineTicketChanges? That’s a good place to start. If that doesn’t work to your satisfaction, as well as for the award ticket, you will probably need to contact the airline directly. Reaching airlines is frustrating and time-consuming at the moment, of course.

      Aloha.

  22. My flight was to be May 7th – not a word or email from Hawaiian air yet. I’m going to assume they are still working with the April cancellations. My challenge is that return ticket was for June 6th (each 1 way reservations). Obviously I can’t return from trip I didn’t take. Any suggestions on getting refund for June 6th flight?

I have timeshares so won’t have time until next year after the rebooking timeframe offered. Thank you, mahalo and stay safe.

    1. Hi Kathie.

It seems like the airline would let you cancel, although technically, unless the June 6 flight ultimately cancels as well (significant possibility of that happening), they would be under no obligation to do so.

      Aloha.

  23. Aloha!
Thank you for all the good advice on this site! We were booked to fly from PHX to HNL on Hawaiian Airlines on May 21, 2020 with a return flight from HNL to PHX on May 26, 2020. I just looked on Hawaiian Airlines website, and now it shows no flights from PHX to HNL for the entire month of May. Previously it was showing flights from May 21st-31st, 2020. So, apparently our flight has been cancelled, but we have not received an email from Hawaiian Airlines regarding the flight cancellation. Others have stated Hawaiian Airlines sent an email with a cancellation option to get a full refund. I am already booked to go back to HNL in September, so I don’t want to reschedule this flight; I want to cancel it for a refund. There is no option in my online Hawaiian Airlines account to cancel for a refund. Any idea how long it took to get the flight cancellation email from Hawaiian Air? Ideally, I don’t want to have to call and sit on hold.

    Mahalo and stay positive!
    Brian

    1. Hi Brian.

Thank you. From the reading of comments, it appears that the online change form did lead others to a refund option. If that isn’t the case you can either contact them or use the DOT complaint form.

      Aloha

      1. Aloha!
Quick update. I called Hawaiian Air and was on hold for only a few minutes. They agreed to a refund for my cancelled flight without any hassle today. However, they stated it could take 3-4 weeks to actually get the amount credited back to my card. Hopefully this means it will be getting easier for everyone else to get refunds too.

        Mahalo,
        Brian

    2. Aloha! After your 4/5/20 update got online chat going with HA and she said our 5/26/20 to Kauai is still good even though not letting any new bookings for that. Find that hard to believe but I still have some time before absolute decision making on our end for travel insurance for our property, etc. Still playing the wait and see game, although tempted to call credit card company and let them deal with it if I get impatient. Mahalo!

      1. Hi Susan.

You aren’t the only one reporting a similar situation across multiple airlines. And yes you have DOT and credit card options should they be necessary.

        Aloha.

        1. I am flying to OGG from Las Vegas June 1- then onto HNL June 7. Then back to Vegas on June 14. I booked this in Feb 2020. I have not received an email from HA, but when I try to book this same flight I am being given a message stating that HA is not flying these routes. Can I assume they have then canceled into June? But they haven’t informed me yet? Or are they just trying to stop people from booking, just in case they end up having to cancel? I can get a refund for all of my travel, except the Airbnb so far, so I have been waiting until mid May to cancel. Any suggestions are welcome. Thank you.

          1. Hi Jennifer.

What we know of is ony through the end of May. Have not heard anything about June, although we wouldn’t be surprised to see it cancel. We hope to know more soon.

            Aloha.

  24. Hello fellow travelers.

I contacted the bank whose credit card I used to book my flight to Maui and they are going after the airlines on my behalf.
My flight was one that was cancelled, was a non-refundable flight and was scheduled for May 5.
The bank was very willing to pursue the refund on my behalf and I only had to be on hold for 30 minutes before getting assistance.

    Good luck,
    Barbara

  25. I received an email from HA earlier today notifying me my flight (HA89) on 4/12 was cancelled. In the email it stated if I wanted a refund to submit a request (a link was provided to the request form). I filled out the form but when I tried to submit the form I got a message telling me I was forbidden from sending the form. I will try again later but I suspect they are doing this on purpose. Any Insights?

  26. Do you have an idea on when Hawaiian Airlines notifies each ticketed passenger of their flight cancellations? In a previous article it was stated that if THEY cancel your flight you will he rebooked on another date with no fees or fare increase. Since our fare was very attractive (the only reason we chose to visit again so soon) we are now finding fares more than double what we paid.
Where did your published info come from? Will we be able to fly for the same fare we purchased?

    1. Aloha! My kids are devastated that we will not be headed to Hawaii this Easter for our annual spring break vacation. You seem to have the inside scoop so I am hoping you can put my mother in-law’s worry to rest. We are currently scheduled to leave April 5th on flight 69 out of Long Beach (LBG) to Honolulu (HNL) and return on flight 70 from HNL back to LBG.

Any idea if this is officially cancelled? Any idea when HA plans to make that call so we can get refunded through Capitol One Travel or our trip insurance?

      Your help is greatly appreciated!!!

      Mahalo!!!

      Evelyn K.

        1. Unfortunately, Hawaiian is still not offering a refund option, nor sending out individual emails related to specific flight/reservation cancellations. My outbound flight for April 30th (obviously canceled) no longer shows on my itinerary, yet no correspondence received from HA, and no refund received.

PS- Thanks for keeping us all updated and sending some Aloha along the way!

          1. Hi Brian.

We’re very sorry to hear that you haven’t heard from them and that a refund is not being offered. We have posted the US DOT regulations multiple times, so if need be you can use DOT’s consumer complaint form.

            Aloha.

          2. Would you believe that just a few hours after I posted, I received an email from Hawaiian stating the following:

            Aloha,

We are writing to inform you that there has been a flight cancellation to one or more flights on your reservation XXXXXX

Hawaii Governor Ige recently announced a 14-day quar antine requirement for all arrivals to the state effective Thursday, March 26. Information on the new quar antine rules are available here.

Because of these restrictions, Hawaiian Airlines will be operating an extremely limited schedule until these restrictions are lifted. We apologize for the disruption to your travel plans and appreciate your understanding.

            Please review your options below.

            Rebook your flights:
We are currently experiencing unprecedented high call volumes. Please call our Reservations team at 1-800-367-5320 only if the flight you would like to rebook is in the next 72 hours.
The unused value of the ticket may be applied toward the purchase of a new ticket for a period of up to one year from the original ticket purchase date.
In order to have your change fee and fare difference waived, you must rebook by December 31, 2020 and travel must begin on or before December 31, 2020.
There is no limit to the number of times you may change your flight before the ticket expires. The ticket will expire one year from the original purchase date.
Cancel your ticket for a refund:
Request a refund using our Make a Request Form.
From the Topic dropdown menu, select “Refund” and from the Subtopic dropdown menu, select “Other.”
You will receive a confirmation email once the refund has been processed.
For further information regarding recent travel advisories and travel waivers, please visit HawaiianAirlines.com.
            ____________________________________________________

SO…Who knows how long it will take to process, but at least they are working on it. Should give a little hope to others in my situation.

            Mahalo,
            Brian

  27. Here’s an interesting update. I called Hawaiian today to cancel my flight from Los Angeles to Kona on May 19. Lo and behold, the Virus page NO LONGER references the May 20 period. They’ve removed that reference entirely and wouldn’t offer me a refund, just the travel voucher with a 12/31 expiration date.

  28. I have flights scheduled for May10-16. I sent an email through their website, I did not choose the “COVID-19” reason. I then briefly stated flights cancelled not my decision, requesting full refund as per US DOT regulations, then attached the document to the email. Just sent it, we will see how it goes.

  29. I was able to get a refund for 1 of our 3 flights today, but only because they had changed the schedule slightly. The US DOT rules state they need to refund if you don’t accept the change. Too early to be able to do anything else for May, even though the messaging is that flights are cancelled through 5/20. Apparently mine are still showing as running despite the messaging.

  30. Dealing with Hawaiian Airlines to cancel requires patience. Their original instructions advised sending an email and they would acknowledge the request by email. I did so but received no email back for days. So I checked my res (still active) and saw an option to cancel without rebooking. At the time I found it, HA had not made an announcement of that feature. So I cancelled from within my res and immediately received a response saying my res was cancelled. Same terms as their original announcement, blah blah blah. HA not great with communications. Definitely gives me pause about them as a company.

  31. I was scheduled to fly to Honolulu 3/26, I went on line to change for a later date flight, it kept telling me a $ 30.00 fee will be charged, my friend also went on line for me, it also said a $ 30.00 fee will be charged, I drove from my residence in Volcano to Hilo Airport and talk to a ticket agent to change my flight date, I told the agent we were told a $ 30.00 fee will be charge, he shook his head, and changed my flight date, without charging me, Hawaiian Airline, Please have your team up dated, It cost me almost $ 30.00, gas, wear tear on my auto, parking fee at the Airport, and my time lost. when thinking about it, I might be ahead paying that $ 30.00 that your company want to charge me. VERY SAD Hawaiian Airline please wake up. Earl

  32. does the 14 day quar antine apply to passengers that are just flying thru Hawaii to their final destination? I am flying from Oakland on 4/6/20 to Pago Pago, American Samoa and returning flight back to Oakland on 04/20/20.

  33. I can tell you that if Hawaiian air does not offer a FULL refund for our trip that was scheduled May 1st thru the 11th I will NEVER even if I have to pay alot more fly on Hawaiian. This whole thing is ridiculous. They need to fully refund anyone who had a flight and has been cancelled.

    1. Hi Paul.

We have posted the link to the DOT, and that includes a consumer complaint link. Hopefully that will not be necessary. Not sure about contacting your credit card company as another option, but they too will be hard to reach right now.

      Aloha.

      1. Hello
Love this website. Glad I found you
        When you.
        Question please.
When you indicate the list the flights and prices “effective May 21st”, does that mean we buy on may 21st or after or can we buy now for a departure date after may 21st?
        Thank you,
        Laura

  34. Good morning. I’m actually glad to hear that Hawaii is isolating itself as much as possible. This has to be a big relief to her people.

I just checked the Hawaiian Air website (6:15 am PDT) and there is a button that says “Cancel Reservation Now and Rebook Later”. And a disclaimer that says “Guests who would like to cancel their tickets now and rebook with a travel waiver at a later time can do so through My Trips. …the unused value of the ticket may be applied…up to one year from the original purchase date.” Trouble is, we bought our tickets back in November. We can’t go this coming November, so gonna wait a week before contacting them to request either a refund or an extension of the waiver through June 2021.

I’m not one bit surprised that they cancelled thru May 20. Our flight to Maui was scheduled for the 19th (have to laugh, right?) We’d love to go on the 21st, but since we booked our hotel over a year ago (timeshare), that reservation can’t be changed. Ah well, so much for well-laid plans, right? I’m hoping that both Hawaiian Air and the hotel will do the right thing and refund our money or allow us to rebook for next year.

Can’t say enough how much I appreciate you guys for keeping us all informed. Mahalo!

    1. Hi Debi.

Thank you! Yes, the airlines obviously do not want to give money back. And yet the DOT requires that they do. We would hope all airlines add the cancel and obtain refund to original payment method to their websites. Not sure about that. Watch for a post we’re just completing with more information about cancelling. It may or may not help in your situation.

      Aloha.

  35. Hawaiian airlines
    March 27th, Friday
    Flight HA6 HNL Depart 8:05am
    to LAS Arrive 4:40pm

    Still on schedule?
    No suspensions or cancellations?

  36. Aloha, we have tickets on HA as follows:

    SFO to OGG on 4/7
    OGG to ITO on 4/12
ITO to HNL to SFO on 4/28

Would you please let me know if HA will contact us
if and when our flights are canceled?
It has been impossible to reach
HA Custome Service and their website says to not call
unless our flights are within 72 hours. Thank you
so much in advance for any information/assistance you are
    able to provide.

    Aloha,
    Weien

    1. Hi Weien.

We can’t speak for the airlines. Have you gone online to try to cancel? That might be the best place to start given how hard it is to reach airlines right now.

      Aloha.

  37. We have tickets to HNL from ITO for 4/19/20 to 4/22/20. Really not an issue if we can just rebook at a later date or get a refund. At this time trying to reach HA is near impossible and not knowing when we would rebook is a question. Should we just wait until things quiet down or would doing that cause us to loose our tickets? How should we proceed?

    1. I changed my tickets today. The wait on phone was 3 hrs 20 min. I just watched tv and chilled. When the lady finally came on line I about fell out of the chair. She was so very nice and accommodating. Glad I got it done tho!

  38. I have a round trip ticket from Lihue, Hawaii to Boston, leaving May 14, 2020 and returning June 7, 2020. Will this be cancelled? Thank you for all the information you provide to your readers, it is appreciated.

    1. Hi Clarita.

Thank you. Yes the May 14 flight is no longer showing on the HA schedule. June 7 is still shown as available.

      Aloha.

    2. Aloha Clarita,

My wife has a ticket booked for May 11th, to meet me in Maui. I was leaving in April to do some work on our property on another island and we were meeting in Maui in May for an actual “vacation” in our Condo. Hawaiian already cancelled my flight and removed my booking for my Round Trip April-May flight, but her booking is still showing and has not been cancelled yet. You may want to check the website to see if your flight booking is still scheduled. Even though the flight isn’t showing on their schedule, or can’t be currently booked, they could still have your booking active, just incase restrictions are lifted by then, and they can start flying. You should wait until the flight booking is cancelled and you will get an email from them. My wife has not received an email even though I have. Waiting for the email and your actual booking cancellation from Hawaiian, can give you more options to decide what you want to do rather than cancelling too early.

Hope this helps in inderstanding that although the flight is no longer able to be booked, it may still be possible should this crisis make a drastic change for the better, that you may still fly. We aren’t holding our breath though…

      Take care!
