  1. Aloha! Just read the in-depth article on Lei Day and the airfare deal on Beat of Hawaii. Mahalo for sharing such valuable information and helping travelers experience the beauty of Hawaii at an affordable price. I can’t wait to celebrate Lei Day on my next visit!

  2. What is nice is that not only is a specific day set aside for lei but everyday is lei day in Hawaii! Flowers give us beauty and wonderful scents. I love flowers. 💐 I took lei making classes in Waikiki. I enjoyed them and I enjoyed wearing my creations. I bought some lei in Chinatown in Honolulu. The place was recommended and it didn’t disappoint. When I attended elementary school we had races on May day. Happy May/lei day! 🌸

  3. What is nice about lei day is that one day is set aside for this celebration but actually everyday is lei day in Hawaii. I have seen beautiful lei. I love flowers. They give nice scents and beauty to the Earth. I bought two lei in Chinatown in Honolulu. The shop was recommended as one of the best. I wasn’t disappointed. I took a lei making class in Waikiki. I had a great time and enjoyed wearing my creation. We celebrated May day when I was attending school by going outside and having races. I can’t think of a better day to celebrate 🌸 flowers 💐 than May 1st. Happy May/lei day!

    1. I loved Lei Day, celebrated every year at Kahala Elementary School. My kids attended from 1977 to 87, and every year it was a huge production! Each grade worked together to create a Hawaiian presentation. It seemed like all the parents attended and we all enjoyed seeing our kids participate! Many leis were presented to teachers, all female in those days! Even our wonderful principal, Dr. Liliann Noda was adorned. Everyone in attendance wore a muu muu or aloha shirt. I hope this wonderful tradition lives on forever!
