what and when is the best deal flying from Cincinnati to Maui? My wife and I have been there once and would love to go back!

In September and October, fares currently range from $657 to about $800. Best prices are on American and United. The lower the fare the longer the connection and these vary from 12 to 22 hours. If you wait a bit you might be able to get a better connection for the same price. That $650 range is a best price target for low season.

I need to leave from OGG with final destination of Denver mid-August through mid-September, a 2 week stay. Guess my enduring question is about the benefit of piecing together one-ways v. direct round trip. Rather steer clear of United.

There are $519 airfares with a quick connection on Virgin America. It doesn’t really get better than that. Don’t wait.
Also, unless you’re flying with carry-on only, piecing together without a true stopover is quite problematic in terms of security, rechecking of baggage and multiple fees, potential for missed flights, etc.

Aloha. We will be honeymooning on Big Island Nov 8 – 18th or so and are wondering if you think ticket prices will drop any further than they are now, around $274 (I think) one way. Travelling out of PDX to KOA on the direct flight hopefully.

Not sure the $599 price on the nonstop will improve. Returning on Friday is about a $25 premium over mid-week. Limited availability on that route this year isn’t helping prices.

Heading to Maui for my honeymoon from Oct. 11th – 22nd (leaving from Boston). What price points should I be looking out for? I’ve signed up for your email list and have seen some deals here and there, but haven’t been quick enough to take advantage. I’ve noticed that prices have been trending lower (currently see flights for $747) and I’m wondering if they’ll keep dropping. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

There are fares as low as $698 in that market, but not for your dates. Short of changing to mid-week travel, $747 is a great price on a good connection with American. Doubtful it will go lower.
Going to Honolulu (Oahu) from Lax. Thinking to go in September or October. Time is flexible for me though. Do those two months have the best vacation deals? Thinking to go for five days four nights. How much would the flight be? How much would a four star hotel cost? Is there a deal for car rental?

Planning on a Kaua’i trip mid-October from the Bay Area. Currently, the cheapest flight I’ve come across was $450RT. They say the best time to purchase flights are 7-8 weeks before departure date. Do you foresee flights to Kaua’i from Bay Area in October to decrease?

That probably won’t change in price – in fact it could go up if availability becomes an issue. $1,200. Suggest buying now if you’re determined to go. Otherwise with more flexibility you can wait and see what might happen – sometimes travel on holidays themselves and eves thereof can cost less as it gets closer.

Great trip to be planning. So that is one heck of a long drive unless you’re going there anyway. Only first week of June will be low season, then the prices of air, accommodations, car will jump pretty dramatically. For airfare planning, budget in the mid to high $500’s if trip is done by early June or $800 or so if after that.

Actually it is both Kona and Kauai. Those don’t have enough traffic, competition and flights when compared with Maui and Oahu. That will be changing starting in the 2nd half of 2017 as Hawaiian and other airlines start to get new single isle planes better suited to neighbor islands.
