We are planning a trip to Hawaii on June 24,2016 to July 1,2016 leaving San Diego to Hawaii we are 4 families. We have been seeing the prices run 709.00 with stop and 724.00 without stop do you think it will get cheaper or should we book now?

Hi, planning a trip late April , 2 adults flying from Las Vegas to Honolulu on 23rd April – Honolulu to Kauai 29th April – Kauai to Las Vegas 3rd may. Price on Hawaiian is $665 pp today which has dropped about $50 since last week. Flying over from England and spending a few days in Vegas either side so these dates are fixed. No idea if this is a good price so was wondering if I should book now or wait and watch the prices for a few more weeks?? Thanks in advance for any advice.

As of today $634 on Hawaiian not including the inter-island flight. Las Vegas is pricey and it may or may not improve if you wait. There is probably no harm in waiting to see as that is low season.

To get the best rates you need to stay tuned for sales. Right now you can fly from San Jose or Oakland to Hawaii for under $400. These prices come and go during off seasons per this post.

My family of 4 are travelling from Kamloops,bc to maui for my nephews wedding – Sept. 29-Oct10/16. Prices are much better from either Vancouver or Bellingham (both of which are ok with us).
Currently prices are about $700/person – will they go down?
Also, the flights all seem to leave at night and take anywhere from 12-22 hours (arriving very early the next morning – is that what we should expect?
Our flight from Vancouver takes 6 hours with the favourable time change. Two days to return seems awfully long. Will they add any flights closer to the fall?

Time for booking is per post. Best carrier is a personal matter. You have United and Alaskafrom DCA for example, and Hawaiian from NYC. Sometimes Baltimore is cheaper.

Hard to say at this point if they will come down since pricing is simply a function of demand that isn’t clear yet. You can just wait and see. It isn’t very likely that prices will go up or that seats would be unavailable. Let us know how it goes.

The cheapest time to travel and to book is already indicated in post. In late January and early February flights are in the mid $700’s and those can be expected for other low seasons of late spring and late summer/fall. If you fly from Boston you can save at least $100 more.

It is too early for the late spring travel dates. So prices are in the $500+ range. Earlier in spring we are seeing under $400 from SJC for example. Also note that your return will be an expensive day to fly as it is in high season.

Under $700 from Chicago at any time is a good price. So if you prefer to lock that in now no harm. On the other hand those dates will remain available if you prefer to watch and wait.

Generally speak, yes. Sometimes reasonable prices from Atlanta, especially on airlines competing with Delta. However for anything in your date range $1200+ on Delta nonstop. If you do one stop, you can fly via American Airlines for $886 – many dates in February and March.
