  1. Hello,
So I’ve been looking to travel from the SouthJersey area to Kihei, Hawaii from Aug 29 to Sept 5th so far I’ve only seen flights, using the kayak web site, showing air from $900 to $1000 is this what i should except to pay for the dates?

    1. Hi Nicole,

Yes $900 seems to be the price at the moment. It may drop somewhat and it is worth waiting a few months to see.

      Aloha.

    2. Thanks for responding! 🙂 I live in South Jersey so PHL, ACY, NYC or the surrouding areas would be traveling from! Also, how many months more should I wait?

      1. Hi Nicole,

We don’t know exactly when the best time will be, or if waiting will help. But it is worth trying to hold off until sometime between May and July. Your dates have soft demand so most likely waiting won’t hurt.

JFK or EWR should be the best pricing since New York is more competitive.

        Aloha.

  2. Hello,

When is the best time (month/season) of the year to get the best (cheapest) package deal (flight+hotel) from LAX to Waikiki Beach? I’ve heard it was around $600? Is this true?

    Please let me know.

    Thanks,
    Faith

    1. Hi Faith,

Typically September and October are about as good as it gets in every regard. It is hard to know what prices will be. Virgin America might enter the market and help reduce fares. Otherwise $600 is a bit optimistic nowadays.

      Aloha.

  3. I was trying to book a flight with Hawaiian airlines for 8/21/15-8/25 from Raleigh (RDU) airport to Oahu round-trip. And the resulted said no flights check another day. But the whole month was like that. Can you tell keep how much much the tickets would be.
    Thankyou

  4. We are looking at going to maui Thanksgiving week (sat-sat). We can go from anywhere on the west coast. Rates are looking about 1,000 per person. Do you think that is the best we can get or would it make sense to wait until six months out or so? Thanks!

    1. Hi Craig,

Thanksgiving can go either way and there have even been fare sales that included Thanksgiving in previous years. This year’s demand is pretty high so we have no indication that there will be any reductions. Also the fact that you want to fly on the weekends works against you. Six months out won’t get you anything. A lower price would probably only happen closer to travel dates.

      Aloha.

  5. Hello!
We’re looking to travel from NC to Honolulu end of June (June 26th to July 3rd).
Can you please advise when is the best time to purchase ticket and best price range we should expect during this time?

    Thanks,
    Teresa

    1. Hi Theresa,

The price is about $1,100, which is to be expected. There is no best time for your peak summer dates.

      Aloha.

  6. We are traveling from Newark mid October. The current flights are $800rdtrip? Is this price accurate or should we wait to purchase tix ?

  7. We want to fly from Portland, OR to Maui mid-August for a wedding. I noticed prices just went up. I am anxious they won’t go down again. What do you think – should we wait to purchase tickets? Thank you!

    1. Hi Zanna,

Looks like about $558 starts on 8/19. If that works, it isn’t bad. It could come down, but we won’t know until the airlines assess demand for those dates. Typically mid-August can have fare sales, but this year it may not happen. Sorry to not have more definitive information.

      Aloha.

  8. Great tips! We’re planning to visit Waikiki in early to mid August, and traveling from Brisbane (Australia) to Honolulu. Flights are approx $1100 each return – which seems to be standard price for that trip. Should we wait to book with Hawaiian Airlines, and hope there’s a better deal? I’d prefer to wait for a sale but don’t want to miss out.

    1. Hi Lauren,

There are round trips on Hawaiian starting at under $800 beginning mid-August, if that helps. That’s about as good as you’ll find. Occasionally, JetStar has had two for one sales, although not of recent.

      Aloha.

  9. We’re looking to travel from Portland, OR to Kauia in May. Prices just jumped from 350 to 550. Did we miss the boat or is there a chance they’ll go back down? Thanks!

    1. Hi Abby,

Prices were definitely better when we last published fare sales from the Pacific Northwest. They could come down again, perhaps in a couple of weeks. But that may not happen. Depends on demand.

      Aloha.

  10. Hello,

I am looking to travel to Kona, HI from the East Coast in late September. When will be the best time to buy tickets? Right now they are running about 1K round trip.

    Thank you!!!
