Sale on Flights to Maui

Last Call! $159 Fare War Flares Up on Flights to Hawaii

A new skirmish this week shows just how competitive Hawaii deals still are. Started by Alaska Airlines, and matched by Hawaiian Airlines, this is also a great opportunity to fly to Hawaii later this summer and fall for only $318 round trip including all taxes and fees. Hawaii’s two great carriers are not done battling for Hawaii turf, and that’s the best news for Hawaii visitors.

    1. Hi Karin,

From $912 with one stop on Hawaiian to $1100 or so on United nonstop. Suggest buying soon as there will be no deals at the holidays and availability is an issue. Accommodations and car rentals can be an issue too at that time.

      Aloha.

    1. Hi Jonalyn.

New factors in the LA market make it a little more unpredictable than most. Compounding the situation, you are traveling on Saturdays which are always more expensive. It might drop below the current $550, but gut feeling is it won’t go down unless you can travel mid-week.

      Aloha.

  2. Traveling from Reno to Maui March 2017. When is the best time to buy the rates seem very high right now.

  3. Do you think there will be great airfare deals for winter travel to Hawaii? If so, when you expect to start seeing those? I’m getting a little antsy to book, but airfare is still $1k from the Midwest.

  4. We are traveling to Maui for the first time, to visit friends who live there. We plan to go late October from LAX. I’d like to wait another month to book (still working on details). Do you think prices will stay the same or possibly go lower during that time, or should we book now?

I love your website! Thanks for all the timely info.

    1. Hi Sylvia,

LA to Maui should have intermittent sales. So start watching when you’re ready to buy. They tend to rotate in and out every one to two weeks.

      Aloha.

  5. Hi! I love all your tips on Hawaii travel! Any advice on tickets from Sacramento to Maui mid November? I’ve been checking but fares have been very high-should I wait till end of summer? Thanks-Shirley

    1. Hi Shirley,

There are $459 1-stops on Hawaiian and $486 nonstops on Alaska this fall including November, just excluding Thanksgiving. Those are good prices from SMF and there’s little chance of any improvement.

      Aloha.
