  1. I think you should expose Mark Benioff whose living his entire corporate business from the Bay Area to the big island, and telling everyone it’s just temporary to train the locals, buying them houses in waimea which moved hundreds of locals out of Hawaii because he was paying cash he will also be running the rent up in surrounding commercial areas, he is not supporting surrounding small businesses or locals unable to afford homes now and he is even outsourcing his security guards!

  3. The posting about Sylvester Stallone selling a home he owned on Kauai for 1.9 million in 1996 that sold again in 2021 for 8.5 million gave the impression that he should have held on to it and his sale wasn’t a good deal. However, holding on to that property would have only reaped him a little over a 6% increase on his money. I beleive he would have done better if his money was invested in the Stock Market during those 25 years and not have had to pay for maintenance, taxes, and other costs.

    1. What do you mean! We are the best island. More to do. 11 climates out of 13 world wide and you can fit all the islands on the big island and still have that much left over!

  4. My husband spoke to William Hurt in the bathroom at the old restaurant at The Prince’s golf course’s club house. That was before the gold course was closed down. Have also seen Scarlett JoHannson in Hanalei.

  5. Hello,

    Thank you!

  6. How many of the properties, except 1 if “developed properly,” could typical residents afford to buy? How many not owned by Stars in this price range could be? How many can afford a rent, if any exists, in these areas? I’m making the point that people from many walks of life vie for space in Hawaii. That fact, coupled with some others, is what has driven property costs beyond what most find affordable. Changing the way business is done in real estate development may provide lasting answers of affordability.
