  1. We love your website! My husband and I have accommodations in Maui from March 27 – April 4 2020. We will be flying from albuquerque and current RT flights are 815 up from 750 a few weeks ago. Should we pull the trigger now or wait for them to go back down? Thank you!

    1. Hi Angie.

Spring break is hardest time to forecast. It seems like you’re on some of the highest price dates of that season. Thus no indication that prices will ease by waiting. Thus suggest either buy now, or be flexible about if/when you come.

      Aloha.

  2. I just read the rules so hopefully you can respond to a previous post.
My wife and I are travelling to Maui departing from albuquerque March 27-April 4 2020. Prices recently went up from 750 to 815. Should I continue waiting for prices to drop or should I jump on it? Thank you. Bob B.

    1. Hi Bob.

We just answered your question left by Angie in another comment. Let us know if there’s anything else.

      Aloha.

  3. Hi Beat of Hawaii!

My question is not about Maui travel but Oahu travel.

We are planning a winter visit (late january 2020) and traveling from LAX to HNL. I have plenty of miles for several of our travelers from previous visits but need to purchase 3 more tickets (I’ve already secured the first few seats using miles). I’m aiming for $350 for coach seating per person for the remaing seats but am wondering if that’s about right for winter travel from LAX to HNL. Should I aim lower? Higher? We’re arriving on a Tuesday and departing on a Wednesday. I DO have the hopper APP but it doesn’t notify me right away, I’ve noticed. I seem to have better luck checking/monitoring websites on my own.

    1. Hi Staci.

That is probably about right. The big unknown here is Southwest getting into that market, when that will happen, and how it will impact pricing. We should know more about that by early fall. It would be good to wait in order to obtain best pricing.

      Aloha.

  4. Hi ,
We are looking to travel mid August for 7 days from San Diego to Maui. I’m finding $355 per person not lower than that.
Did I miss the deal? Should I still wait and see or buy the tickets?
    Thanks

    1. Hi Fara.

First, prices we show are one way including all taxes and fees. Second, you cannot expect to find those in days after we post them. You are inquiring a week later. To obtain the prices we quote, they should be purchased within minutes to hours thereafter.

      Aloha.

  5. Looking at Christmas in Hawaii (Yes we know usual deals aren’t an option) though do you have any suggestions for best time to buy to get best price possible?

  6. Hello. A first timer here and trying to book last minute for a trip next month. Fares are decent for the 13th-22nd. What airport is best to fly into for a 7 day trip. We want to take as much is as possible without spending too much time island hopping. Want to take in scuba, volcano’s, helicopter tour, some hiking, and mostly just lay on the beach.

  7. Aloha! I am 4 months out and getting nervous about prices. Looking like about 350 each way from GSP to OGG and back from HNL to GSP. Should we bite the bullet or expects more drops closer to 3 months out

    Thank you!

    1. Hi Meredith.

Not enough details to really help. If mid week in October is the plan, then you’re safe to wait and it might come down some. Best target price is going to be about $600. If weekends, then best not to wait.

Airlines just raised rates last week and that will hold for a while. You might need to wait until July or August to see anything better.

All depends on your patience in terms of waiting or buying now.

      Aloha.

      1. Hi again. We’re planning a Thursday through the following Tuesday. So both midweeks. So your advice is to keep being patient?

        1. Hi Meredith.

When we post deals you really have to jump on them within minutes to hours. That’s all the time that you have.

          Aloha.

    2. Aloha!

My fiancé just proposed and we are planning a Maui destination wedding. We have our accommodations locked in for Feb. 6-15, 2020. Would be super grateful if you could advise on when to think about purchasing airfare. We are traveling MKE to OGG. Thank you so much!!!

      1. Hi Leanne.

So probably will be best priced this fall sometime – can’t say exactly when. Target price is under $550 RT. The Saturday return date is going to cost about $50 extra (might be $500 otherwise).

        Aloha.

  8. Thinking ahead for summer 2020 travel from RDU to Maui/Oahu. Have some flexibility in which month to go. Will stay 10-14 days. Party of 4. Open to stopover on West Coast to help with time difference/jetlag. Don’t have unlimited funds so any advice on high/low season, where/when to fly, etc is appreciated.

  9. I’m looking for LAX-OGG flights anytime in October 2019 (6-8 nights). Is the current pricing of $360-ish RT the best I can hope to do? Are the days of $199 RT flights over? Thanks.
