This time, we are featuring Hawaiian Airlines deals and their very best peak of summer airfares following reopening. Some fares as much as 45% off normal summer fares. There’s no doubt about it, Hawaii is about to have a very busy summer.
Here’s the deal. Travel is from mid-June through mid-August. The prices listed are the lowest prices we found today anywhere within that date range, and other days are higher. The best prices have very limited availability that varies by route. Prices are mostly for basic economy tickets and mid-week travel, Monday through Thursday. Some weekends are available too. Search using the monthly availability calendar.
You’ll get to bring a full-size carry-on and enjoy complimentary meals with wine on board. Plus wide-body comfort on some routes.
Notes on availability:
▶ We always find cheaper fares than advertised by airlines, but with less availability. Keep that in mind when searching.
▶ The date range indicates at least some days in each month have availability at the time of publishing.
▶ Can’t find what you’re looking for? See Need Help below.
▶ Airfares change up to five times each weekday, and availability decreases as seats are booked.
▶ To take advantage of these limited Hawaiian Airlines deals, you should find and book them now.
▶ The fares shown are mostly Main Cabin Basic, and the full-fare economy is about $30 more.
▶ Start travel either on the US Mainland or in Hawaii.
▶ Prices listed are each-way, including all taxes and fees.
How to book:
Book online only – these fares are not available by phone. Use the links below to go directly to the Hawaiian Airlines website and then search for your city pairs and dates. Try using the monthly fare calendar for more options and to locate the cheapest fares.

Why no cheap airfares from Phoenix to Honolulu?
Cheryl D says
Hi,
Probably due to fact that AA is only carrier with nonstops from PHX?

Thank-you for all the updates. We have a two week vacation planned in Jan We understand that testing has to be done but ask you to consider any clinical lab in The Us doing Covid testing. The lab Unipath /Cedar is not on your list of partners however. They test Covid for the state of Colorado. Isn’t the real solution to make sure all of us travel safely. Please widen your testing partners to include any licensed lab in the Us. Make traveling easier for all. Hopefully we’ll see you in January Blessings Deer
Beat of Hawaii says
Hi Dee.
It looks like something will be changing with regard to testing partners. So given you have a few months, stay tuned for updates on that.
Aloha.

We have 2 week vacation planned for the big island Which we paid full price for. I understand all the test required for the safety of all However I believe you should widen the partners When a lab that is testing for the state of Colorado is not on the list. You are missing out on many tourist that want to comply. So I ask kindly to add any clinal lab in the Us as credible testing. So please add Unipath/ Cedar to your list of acceptable partners Thankyou for your consideration!!

Beat of Hawaii says
Hi Dee.
While we don’t know about that specific location, it is our understanding that many more trusted partners will soon be added.
Aloha

So glad to see Hawaii has reopened! After a few initial bumps to iron out, it seems that the safety of residents plus jumpstarting the economy, is happening.
Any word on entry for US citizens stuck overseas? I hope to visit family in December. 14 day quarantine is not an option. To fly from Asia passengers must have a negative Covid test to board the plane – thus all arriving are Covid free. If the flights are going (???) what is required to fly into Honolulu with a connecting flight to Kona. I will probably have to rebook my flights for the 3rd time so it would be good to have some guidelines first.
Once you recover from the frenzy of the last few weeks with Mainland travel, please keep your eyes open on developments for international arrivals. Again I am a US citizen – not a tourist.
Mahalo and thanks again for your super job!!
Beat of Hawaii says
Hi Nancy.
Thanks. We do know that Japan is in the works and soon, and so is Canada, but that’s all we have heard about. Updates coming.
Aloha.

Aloha Guys,
Trying to keep up with all these on again/off again/on again changes, I lost track of the links to resting providers on the west coast. Can you give me the link to where is shows all the accepted tests/providers that is on the list, and where to go to update and track your information to the state of Hawaii, please?
Mahalo for your continued coverage of all this craziness! Many of us appreciate you more than you can fathom! ❤️🤍💙
Beat of Hawaii says
Hi Jim.
Thanks. You can navigate to all of the testing through https://hawaiicovid19.com. The health questionnaire and testing site is found here: https://travel.hawaii.gov/#/. If there’s anything we can help with, just let us know.
Aloha.
Jim R. says
Excellent, thanks you two! I will let you know if I have any issues or questions… appreciate the links.

Aloha, which airline has a scheduled Sacramento-Kona non-stop? Or if not scheduled now, which one seems like it will in the future? We need RT originating at SMF. Mahalo, Linda Olsen
Beat of Hawaii says
Hi Linda.
None of the airlines are indicating they will fly that round nonstop in the future. That could change, based on demand.
Aloha.

Thanks for the updates – Being from Vancouver area can you please update as to Covid testing requirements that we can get in Canada as everything I see is only available in USA. Also any Flights form Canada are appreciated. Thanks
Beat of Hawaii says
Hi Don.
Westjet plans to resume flying from Vancouver in early November. Right now there is nothing for Canada other than perhaps the mailorder Quest tests, as far as we know. And we aren’t even sure about those from Canada.
Aloha.

I hope you can help me! I am from North Dakota and my family has tickets flying on United from Fargo to Denver and then direct to Kahalui, Maui. 72 hours before is on a Sunday which means I cannot overnight a sample in the mail that day. There are not any CVS or Walgreens in North Dakota doing COVID tests for people without symptoms. I do not know how to get a test and results in time!! If you have any information for people like me who do not live close to a metropolitan area, I would appreciate it. Also, if we get to go and test negative, do we need to wear masks at the swimming pool or on the beach?? Thank you!
Beat of Hawaii says
Hi Jane.
Not sure about your timing in terms of mail-order tests. You could contact Quest perhaps and see if they think it will work. No, you will not need to wear masks at the swimming pool or on the beach at this time.
Aloha.

OK, this is wonderful news but travelers to Kauai May be on quarantine if there is a virus spread of beyond 8 cases. Is that correct and would that apply to people who are already there?
Jeanne m says
MY friend was not refunded her ticket on Hawaiian despite flight in spring when covid was a real problem….only a voucher limited time. Just want to say American Airlines has been more than gracious and has refunded in total three itinerary first class tickets for two attempts from nyc, and coach for Italy….very responsive to our needs…even wrote Hawaiian on friends behalf and unresolved. I love American…..36 times to Islands and no problem until now, with acceptable partner testing. Yes, acceptable as per Hawaii, no, then yes…gave up.
Glen P. says
Hello. Thank you for your coverage during all this mess!
I’m also really interested in LOW COST accommodations. It’s the hotel / condo / Airbnb that’s Going to cost me the most.
Are there any amazing deals on Accommodations ?
I want to surf in Hawaii. 🙂
Thanks
Beat of Hawaii says
Hi Glen.
Thanks. Accommodations will definitely heave deals soon. It is coming together somewhat slowly and no one was really sure what was happening until Hawaii actually reopened yesterday. Give it a week or two.
Aloha.

Re: Hawaiian airlines special from mainland to Kona. I have booked a flight with this carrier and because of Hawaii’s off again on again closure in regard to the covid virus I have rebooked my flight plans Five times now. And the most recent flight scheduled to leave first week of Dec they charged me an additional $160. So what gives. I think I need to talk to someone.
joan B says
Look for Southwest and Alaska to join in too.
Mahalo for keeping up the great updates.
Tom S. says
Hopefully they extend this thru the end of June !!! Aloha !!!!!!!
Sandra says
If I were to purchase now and follow through on the change thing, do I then just pay the difference on a future flight? I’m trying to decide if I sold jump to get this rate or if it’ll matter in the long run

Devan A. says
Hi there! I’m looking for flights to Honolulu for April 4-11, some of us are traveling from New York and some from California. So far I haven’t really found anything under $1,000, I see some on the deals list above but don’t see them on Hawaiian airlines website. Any advice? Thanks so much!
Beat of Hawaii says
Hi Devan.
You’re planning to travel during the peak of spring break, on Saturdays, and you will find deals for then. Best suggestions including changing dates to get away from that week, as well as flying mid-week, not on weekends.
Aloha.
